Hi everyone. This article will cover a recent announcement regarding a United States Maine Senator's Steem-Powered Campaign! This is definitely a first of its kind here, and I'm thrilled to see officials respecting and participating in these cutting-edge technologies and utilizing cryptocurrencies.

In this post, I'll cover Senator Brakey's experience, policies, and most importantly his open-mindedness. I definitely believe that if you live in Maine, you should give him your vote as he will serve as an excellent senator and as a voice for the Steem and Crypto communities. Let's check him out!

Political Platform

Politically, @senatorbrakey is running in the 2018 U.S. Senate election for the state of Maine. He is a Ron Paul Republican. His platform slogan is "Liberty for the Little Guy," implying that he aims to do his best at returning power and freedom for hardworking citizens, and not just the elite.

I believe we have surrendered too many of our liberties and too much power into the hands of big government and big corporate special interests in Washington D.C. Now, it is time to stand up and fight to take back our liberties for all us little guys.

Senator Brakey

It's clear that his goal is to "drain the swamp" in Washington DC. He realizes the problems with big government, and wants to focus on reigniting democracy.

That's why I am a big supporter of cryptocurrency and am excited about its future potential [...] and I will do all I can to stand up for crypto liberty in Washington D.C.

Senator Brakey

It's no wonder given his clear goals that he is a huge supporter of cryptocurrency. Many politicians have supported cryptocurrencies, and many have rejected them. But it's clear that Senator Brakey has truly done his research with cryptos, as I'll show in the next section.

A Voice for Cryptocurrency

Senator Brakey has said he will do "all [he] can to stand up for crypto liberty." It's pretty clear that he will stick to his word, given the amount of time, research, and funds he has already invested into cryptocurrency.

For starters, Brakey is currently running an active Steem account at @senatorbrakey. This should be enough to show that Brakey is truly invested in cryptocurrencies, and not just the elite ones such as Bitcoin. Brakey takes questions from the Steemit community in most of his posts, showing that he does care about us.

A few days ago, Brakey posted to Steemit on how he visited local businesses utilizing Bitcoin in his area.

Specifically, he detailed his visit with Maine Bitcoin, LLC, a small business helping residents make conversions between dollars and Bitcoin.

This shows that he cares about businesses using cryptocurrencies, and cryptocurrencies being used as real money.

I believe blockchain technology represents a tremendous opportunity for human civilization by decentralizing power away from the elites and into the hands of regular people. When I arrive in the US Senate, I will do everything in my power to protect our crypto liberty from the meddling politicians and creatures of Washington DC.

Senator Brakey

Brakey also endorses blockchain technology and distributed ledgers. It would be very nice to have more people in the government openly accepting technology that could, in the future, help the country be governed in a more democratic and fairer way.

Protecting the Privacy of Citizens

The 4th Amendment of the Constitution details the right of Americans to be secure against "unreasonable searches and seizures."

However, in the day and age of advancing technology and spyware, many feel that the 4th Amendment has been lost.

As a Republican, I often find myself at odds with others in my party when it comes to protecting the 4th Amendment.

Senator Brakey

Senator Brakey has differing views regarding the 4th Amendment, contradicting those even within his party. Brakey believes that our privacy and security as US Citizens is important.

Today, the NSA has full access to the data on our phones and computers, including information on our text messages, phone calls and website browsing history [...] This is simply one reason why we must defend the 4th Amendment.

Brakey recognizes the US Government's "habit" of monitoring the public, and vows to defend the 4th Amendment and our Privacy Rights in the US Senate.

Conclusions

Though I'm not urging you to vote in any particular way, due to my respect for your opinion and your voting rights, I highly recommend you check out and research Senator Brakey.

Brakey seems to be active on his Steem account @senatorbrakey, and also runs a website here where you can find more of his social media.

If you have any questions, try to contact him. Research his policies and ideas. If you agree with him, please do vote for him in the Maine Senate Election. I personally believe he will bring a great voice to the US Senate representing our community.
