RE: Steemit is Set to Disrupt Giant Tech Companies

in #steem7 years ago

It's due time that we've eliminated all the middle men that leech off of data & transactions. People are starting to figure it out, and get frustrated with the amount of spying / privacy-invasion that companies like Facebook and Google are notorious for. WIthout having any other options for services that, for better or worse, are becoming intertwined with todays world, they were able to develop a strong monopoly.

People are banding together and forming our own decentralized digitial unions -- it's about time. I don't know if "steemit" is the future, but at the very least, I would argue that it's a stepping stone on that path. There are probably some UI issues and upgrades that could be beneficial for steemit as a platform -- but I'm rapidly growing accustomed to it.

Steemit is one of the apps built on top of blockchains that follow decentralized principles. Very hard to find and is very unique.
