The Noble Bot Is Celebrating Its First Success
The Noble Bot was launched with a view to help steemians who mistakenly broadcast their private keys in posts, comments, or in transfer memos. The start was very rough, it was much slower than other bots. But the bot was reprogrammed in the next few days and made much faster.
Before sharing its success, @noblebot would like to say sorry to @tesaganewton. The bot got his key but was not able to change it because of some technical difficulties. I am sorry!
On June 03, @unben posted his master password in a comment, this time @noblebot was ready and was able to update his account with new master password. By the time account update was finished, @sami100 had already taken 1.157 STEEM from him. But the good news is @noblebot was able to save close to 90 SBD.
I notified him with a wallet message to recover his account or contact @noblebot on Discord. On June 6, 2:35 UTC, @unben successfully recovered his account via account recovery process. So, 90 SBD was saved and I’d like to consider it a success.
@tcpolymath commented on the announcement post with an idea of warning users about not posting their private memo keys. Now @noblebot is also warning users who are using private memo key in transfer memo with a memo message. In last 10 days it has warned 29 times.
I am really happy that the community came forward and supported this initiative. I’d like to thank all who commented and showed support on the announcement post.
Special thanks to @abh12345 and @sourovafrin who supported me from the beginning in testing and with ideas.

How stupid should one be to disclose their password? How about some responsibility for your actions? Consequences of the stupid shit you do? You post your password, you get your account stolen, just as it should be. Survival of the fittest and all.
I understand what you are talking about. But mistake happens and people do not do it knowingly. When such mistake happens I'll try to protect the account and its funds.
I get what you're saying on one level, but on a different level I think that something like this is good because when we are required to use things like the active key for even the smallest of transfers then we should not have to live in an environment of fear where users are reluctant to partake in any economic activity out of fears that one copy-paste mistake that destroy all the hard work they've put into their account.
In my opinion our general culture is very different than, say, bitcoin, where you cling to your keys until your death and never actually want to do anything with them in the hopes the price goes to the moon.
Whether you like it or not, in the world we live in, a small misstep can easily lead to your death. Now, you can either watch your steps or pray that nothing bad will happen or somebody will save you. Guess what works better.
Personal responsibility works hand in hand with group efforts to make the world a safer place.
Its always nice to see when someone cares enough to actually do something about it.
Thank you for your support. :)
