Steemit Meetup in Uppsala

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

Tonight we had the second Blockchain Meetup in Uppsala, which at the same time served as the first Steemit Meetup. I think I might have mentioned it in one or two of my previous posts on Steemit.

Tonight we were seven people, having good time and geeking out over beer and burgers in the cozy Buddy’s Irish Pub in the central Uppsala. (Buddy’s Irish Pub, BIP, get it? Upvote if you do! ;)) Five out of seven participants already had their Steemit accounts set up, and of those five the majority was actively posting and/or curating.

We talked about a lot of things: Steem Blockchain, posting and curating strategies, ethos and ethics of Steemit, how do STEEM, SteemPower and Steem Dollars all work together, shared a few examples of our favourite posts and authors, and fantasised about kidnapping one of the whales and releasing them only after they have upvoted at least one of each meetup’s members’ posts. (What a great idea, isn’t it? It could surface only after two pints of Guinness.)

All in all, we had a jolly good time, with jokes and laughter interspersing conversations on serious topics. I personally was very happy to see my two good friends, @surudoi and @doublewael.

Here’s to more meetups like this one in the near future and to the long-term success of Steemit!

Oh, thank you! I just checked your webpage and you guys are awesome! Please continue your superb work. Yeah, you @better! :-p

@oleg326756 wow that's pretty cool and speedy of you ;)

Thank you, @englishtchrivy! I wrote this post on the train from Uppsala to Gävle. It usually takes about an hour for me to get home and it was a great way to pass time. I was surprised when the train arrived to Gävle – it didn’t feel like an hour, but rather like 10 minutes. :)

Awesome that you guys done this and got to share ideas together and possible new vote buddies. Post upvoted.

This is so cool! I wish one of those meetings would be closer to me! Where is Uppsala?... :)

One hour north of Stockholm or one hour south of Gävle! :) You are very welcome to join our next meetup! ;)

Thank you! I hope next time! Anyway I followed you, so I will know :)
