The attached quote is one of my favourite quote ever, and that prompted me to write this write up is due to the relevance of self discovery in ones life.
Self discovery is the process by which an individual discover what he or her can do better. Self discovery makes an individual to recognised or realised their great potential. Self discovery is a contributing factor to success especially when it is been done or realised at early stage of life. Individual need to know what he or she can do better in a particular business. As time passes by, have come to realise that sometimes people don't know themselves, what they are capable of doing, the unlimited potential the have within themselves.
Self discovery of an individual include self evaluation of such individual. When peoples are to be evaluated, this mean that we are to consider all factors and or characteristics of such an individual. Self evaluation is the process by which an individual tend to understand what aspect of his life or character is good or bad, what does people think about you, do you at any particular point in time posses a repeated frustrating attitudes, is the a particular thing in your life that people are telling you most time that you are good at. Sometime your self evaluation might necessitate the discovery of your self, of your undiscovered potentials, your weaknesses, your strength and at the same time' the repeated bad attitude of yours.

Aspect of self discovery

Natural of self identification: this aspect to self discovery as involve the ability of an individual to carefully identify those intrinsic potentials with himself. It entails getting to your self better after enough or thorough self evaluation. Some might not even be aware of their great potentials until they are in a particular situation that will navigate their reaction, it is then they will realise the extent of potentials they posses. A number of great people that has fallen into this categories include;

KING DAVID

The famous King David discovered himself before the general public knew the type of potentials he posses, the unlimited power, the strength and the effrontery he had before confronting Goliath. At some point David knew he could kill the Goliath before he finally open to the public. The confidence came as a result of the fact that he had killed lion that was trying feast on his sheep. The killing of Goliath prove his stand and contributed more to his success in life.
It is important to note that self discovery take diverse way or varies from individual to individual for example, some people can discovered the hidden potential themselves and then focus on it and later turn them to someone great in life. However some people needs other to discover it for them and also help them to nurture it till they become fully aware of such greatness in them. It has been proven over time that early self discovery help most people and this type of self discovery is usually facilitated by parent.
Self discovery by parent are most common in developed countries and this is when the parent tend to do a thorough study of their child when their still small or at a teenage age. Here the parent tend to identify those things or instrument that their child like to play with most of the time or things they like doing at the teenage stage then try to encourage them by providing mentorship or enrolling them to any school that is established to foster that goal or aim. This could in form of a training school or academy in term of football, music or any other school that may foster the objectives. This type of self discovery can be seen in a movie like X- men and some great people like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ben Carson

Bejamin Solomon carson is one the best neuro seugeon in the world, Carson is an author and a politician and his currently the United State Secretaryof housing and urban development. After going through one of his book(the gifted hand) then I realised that the backbone of his success today was his mother who never at any point in time give up on him even with rate of the race he suffered and abuse from his class mate. Carson turning point occur when he change his spectacle and in that period his grade in mathematics up to D. Carson mother told him that he could better than just having 'D' and immediately she change their home activities and gave him a task to memorized the school time table and further subject them to be visiting library. This routine was duely observed by the Carson's and after then their performance never remained the same.

Another aspect is self discovery while growing up

In this aspect individual potential might not be discovered at early stage but i identified when growing up. In the form parent try to understand the area of interest of their child or perhaps the child itself try to give the parent the clue or telling them outrightly what he wishes to do or become in the future. This could be as a result of their interest in that particular field or aspect of life. I found my self in the aspect of self discovery because I realized my potential while growing up. At first I wanted to be a banker or accountantr, then I told my mum that mum I love banker and I would love to become one. I got attracted by the way bankers dress meanwhile my mother had wanted me to become a lawyer or doctor but she never falsed me to do so. Later after some exposure I discovered some other potentials that I love doing which are more personal and supportive to my career which include meeting people, counselling, motivating or providing guardians service, professional advisory service as a chartered accountant. Another great person that cut my attention in this aspect is Martin Luther King Jr.

King first speech as the group's president, King declared, "We have no alternative but to protest. For many years we have shown an amazing patience. We have sometimes given our white brothers the feeling that we liked the way we were being treated. But we come here tonight to be saved from that patience that makes us patient with anything less than freedom and justice before the the mind blowing I HAVE A DREAM. A wonderful speech that set millions of African-America free till date.

Try and Error

This aspect consider those that did not discover their potential earlier but while growing up. The kind of people that fall in the in cateries are those that planning or doing one thing or the other before but because of their in ability to meet up with the require task then they later do their self evaluation to later discovered other things they could do which later lead to their break through. A lot of great people fall in this people which include Arsene Wigan, victor verdes and the current seira Leon President George Weah. Based on my research a lot of people fall under this aspect of self discovery. It is referred to as try and error because of the fact those in this categories had try some other activities before discovery where their potential is fully maximize.

Influencer to Self Discovery

This is trying to explained who or those factors the navigate your self discovery, sometimes one might need the help of anothers to discover the hidden potentials or perhaps people around you might be the one to will create that awareness to you. Telling you those things that you have never take cognisance off or things you do better than other without seriousness . The drive might come from friends or spouse or probably guardian or mentor.

Important of self Discovery

There are so many benefit that an individual could derived from early discovery of their potentials as it help to foster into the future. Others include

• it helps you identify your weakness, as well as your strength
• it give a clear understanding to your vision and mission
• it sometimes makes you to fulfil purpose in life
• it also brings joy to you as you realised that you are loaded with greatness at early stage.
