I hate the obnoxious marketing as well. However the app has been great to use and is why I over looked that. I only interface with steem through my phone so I need a mobile app!

I personally don't mind the marketing tidbit from Partiko since I don't think they could really market that well without having a signature there.
They had plenty of users who would've advertised for a simple upvote. Forcing someone to put a signature on every comment is sort of being a nuisance and seemed unnessecary in my opinion.
I made an ad for them and they never upvoted me for my support.
