It's no longer a rumor. Looks like TRON wants to move STEEM(it) over to the Tron network and create a Tron STEEM token.

Yep, I saw that.
I wonder how this affects existing dApps and bots.
Steemit in future (6 months?) may run against a TRON blockchain and Steempeak become the new UI for the Steem blockchain?
Or we could even see a STEEM fork?
