Blockchain systems only matter if they improve the life of people. And in order to do that, they need people to use them.
The first and foremost value of a blockchain system lies in the people who use it.
That is, in the end it doesn't really matter whether it's a DAG or a blockchain or whether it has smart contracts or bells and whistles.
What matters is: does it offer users an enticing user experience and useful functionalities? What it has "under the hood" is secondary.
I know of no other blockchain system that is so easy and enticing to use than steem.
