SMT Development Update #5

in #steem6 years ago

Hello Steemians, today we have for you our 5th installment of weekly SMT progress reports.

Not All Flatlines are Fatal

As you can see from the chart, it would appear that the team has stalled. That isn’t quite true.
In addition to coding and testing, our development process requires code reviews in order for us to call it done and count as progress. We had some key team members out this week which caused our work to be stalled in a state of pending code review.

We actually work in two-week iterations (this is week 1) and all of the current sprint work needs to be completed by the end of the iteration. We share our weekly progress here with you, but for us it is most important that we finish the work we set out to do over the course of the two-week iteration. You’ll likely see a larger than average list of finished work items next week.

SMT Scope added last week:

*https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/3148 - asset_symbol_type::from_nai_string() not parsing properly
*https://github.com/steemit/steem/issues/3144 - Allow smt_create_operation to reset setup

SMT Scope completed last week:

*None.

The blue dots symbolize the number of points that we have completed for SMT development. For those who don’t know, assigning “Story Points” is part of Agile Software Development. They are a “unit of measure for expressing an estimate of the overall effort that will be required to fully implement a product backlog item or any other piece of work” and determined by using a Fibonacci Scale.

The team will assess our progress against the trendline at the end of next week and determine if we’ll need to reduce scope for SMT MVP and/or provide new release dates. Thank you for following along on this journey with us!

The Steem Blockchain Team

Our goal with this series is to bring even more transparency to the development process of Smart Media Tokens. In addition to these weekly reports, you can follow along on our GitHub project organization and tracking system for SMT development which is (usually) updated daily.

Thanks for the update! Looking forward to next week's chart. :)

It's going to be parabolic... some random Elliot Wave guy vaguely hinted at it — and then told me his suggestion was just for informational and entertainment purposes...

Haejin? xD

seems like it lol going to be a boom week when steem hits $29 lol

hopefully it gets up to that again by March 2019

Thanks for the update.....:)...

Thank you for sharing !

Steady secure movements towards a larger goal keep it up :)

I love seeing the progress right before my eyes like this. I wish the Steem team always proceeded this way!

I hope these developments are positively reflected in Steem and SBD. :))

hopefully progress continues to grow, thanks for the news at this time

We actually work in two-week iterations (this is week 1)

I suggest just doing these dev reports every 2 weeks then, to match your work cycle and cut back on meaningless reports.

Eagerly awaiting! Looking forward to launching my own. I hope the UI is seamless.

so, what is the timeline for SMTs ?
