It's a sad situation. Justin and Steemit have been making some nasty comments on Twitter about 'malicious hackers'. That is not helpful. You can see that thousands of people have voted for the original witnesses compared to dozens for their puppet accounts.
I tried to buy more Steem last night for myself and someone else to power up. Blocktrades could not do it as Steem was 'under maintenance'. Luckily another Steemian was happy to sell some.
I do worry Justin will find ways I but much more Steem and take back control, but there's still plenty of Steemians who haven't voted.
I think all parties need to make a nice cup of tea, and take a while to think before making rash descisions and spur of the moment tweets.
It will be very useful if Blocktrades comes back on...
