I see Steem as more than just a currency. It's an opportunity as anyone can be earning it without needing to invest money. We can see that works and it's a matter of getting people to know about it. The 'politics' are just growing pains and the risk you take by not having central control.
The opportunity is here for the taking or the breaking. There is no denying it is here. :) I like the pitch, and I have spent my life in startups, and the drama comes with the territory.
I truly agree with that @steevc , one thing that I love about steemit is the support system is great, people will really help you, gained friends , plus you can post anything based on your interests . Indeed a social media that pays without investing money ;-))
