Steem vs FacebooksteemCreated with Sketch.

I just wanted to blog about social media real quick. Steem seems to support the alternative media and cryptocurrency. Not sure how steady Steemit is, but it seems to be progressing. Not a huge fan of Facebook, but message boards like Steem seem to be comfortable for me.

As far as profitability is concerned....

Facebook started off in 2003 at Harvard as Facemash to see who was attractive or not on campus. In 2012, Facebook had a market capitalization of 104 billion dollars. It took 9 years to make Mark Zuckerberg and the Facebook family rich.

Steemit has been around since 2016, the company established itself as part of the growing blockchain revolution, but specialized in social media. After three years of service, Steemit is estimated to be worth $114 million dollars by coinmarketcap.com. Not to shabby if you ask me. Steemit also had a peak in January 2018 when the value reached approximately $1.7 billion dollars. Why didn't I sell than instead of HODLing like people were saying?!?! haha

Steemit is still a baby at age 3, but in 6 more years I believe we will find out if Steemit has staying power, or it will go the way of myspace. Is it possible a new cryptocurrency based media site will challenge Steemit?!?! Maybe Facebook will change gears and launch it's on cryptocurrency?
