STEEM: Introducing DLike Application With Account Based Voting

in #steem6 years ago

Welcome to July and the start of the Minnow Uprising.

We have a new addition to the STEEM blockchain. I want to shed some light on DLike, STEEM's newest application,.

It is exciting to witness the development of ideas based upon what others applications doing.

@dlike uses account based voting similar to @steemhunt. However, they put in a twist where they use the number of followers a user has as a means of preventing spamming and to reward those who contributed to the STEEM blockchain. This contrasts @steemhunt in that application uses the reputation score as part of their model.

dlike has been built on a unique ranking system based on ABV( Account Based Voting ) which is inspired from another popular steem app @steemhunt. This ranking system is named as dworth and dlike has tried to make the ranking system even better by introducing the popularity of steem user (Number of followers).

So what is @dlike.

The design of dlike is based on popular social media platform, Pinterest, where people share cool things and gain popularity.

There you have it. Another STEEM-based application that mirrors a traditional one.

Here is an example of a Steemian seeing something lacking on the blockchain and putting together the resources to solve the problem.

@dlike is going completely decentralized forecasting the use of IPFS and making its coding open source.

I like the openness of how much they pay out.

dlike will be getting 15% as beneficiary from all posts shared thorough the app. Out of this 15 percent, 5% will go directly to dlike.rewards and will be shared among all contributors on dlike. 9% will go to dlike to cover costs and ensure future development and 1% will be managed as dlike.fund to ensure future stability of the app.

I did not log in but I did hit the link to do that and this application is using steemconnect in the sign up process which is vital.

This looks like a first-class job done by the @dlike team.

It is exciting to see people take the ideas of others and implement them. At the same time, adding something else to the mix only pushes the entire ecosystem forward.

Here we have another application that is of assistance in the Minnow Uprising that is taking place in July. It appears to be a way to get a post up quickly while sharing content that interests you. Also, since we are trying to stimulate activity with this project, supporting a new application like @dlike is a wonderful approach. It helps with two objectives at the same time.

I would suggest everyone try this new application out.

This is just another example of how there is no FUD with development on the STEEM blockchain and we are in a major bull market in that regard. The Wall Street casino called price action does its thing. That might or might not reflect what is going on. Development, however, that is what lays the foundation for the blockchain. And an application like @dlike can be one that attracts users to STEEM.

Here we have another tool in our STEEM arsenal.

Since the pump is already occurring , I think it’s great time to start the uprising and increase the price as much as we can

I'm a big user of pinterest, so this interests me. I've seen a few posts about and yours is the first to make the pinterest analogy.

Pinning is something you do many times a day if you are on task and want to get noticed over there. I would not want that kind of action on my steemit feed and my autovoters would not stand for it.

I have tried a few of these off-site places over the year I have been here. I find them generally to be a lot of work and then what gets to my blog does not look good unless I edit it again. Then there is the aspect of paying for the privilege.

I am open to trying and I hope I will be able to stay here and give it a go. My future is uncertain, but I will keep this one in mind.

You bring up a good point. This is what I am curious about. How can we keep our feeds clean on each app? If this can be done, we are in like Flynn.

Any thoughts about if and how there would be a way to control app based feeds across the blockchain?

I could see that I might want some of my D.tube content on Steemit, and maybe some Dlike too, but not all of it. The ability to pick and choose what we give to our audience is very important to me going into this.

It's possible to do this, and some apps (like zappl and bescouted etc) do it already. Each post has a custom JSON field where the app that created the post is stored (if the app creator chose to store it). I think this will increasingly be done as more and varied apps appear on the blockchain.

Awesome. There we have it. Yeah, I think it is a big deal to have that implemented as time goes on.

I sure do appreciate what you do to bring Steem blockchain news to us. This is a really good looking app. I can see using this for my Flying-Higher account, which is somewhat photo centric.

Another interesting project built on the Steem blockchain! We keep getting new stuff like this every other week, and I'm sure that some of these are going to grow very big. Time to Power Up and enjoy the ride as all these projects onboards new members ;)

Thanks for the reminder that this is Day 1 of the #minnowuprising

In line with what I saw yesterday...... With the #minnowuprising will it be that this is another means aside from that same project or this is also in a commemoration to that....... Will like to receive from you soon. Thanks #taskmaster4450

Curious to know whether you have an issue with SteemConnect?

Why not just login to try it too?

my five cents: Like the app. There's a lot to do, of course, but the intention is, as I understand and as I use it, is curation. The curation of the open internet links we, as sharers, thinks might be informative/interesting/useful/whatever for steem blockchain community.
