First Thoughts about Steem

I just signed up for an account a few days ago and I’d like to share a couple of my thoughts on the pros and cons of Steem.
Overall I like the idea of a platform that incentivizes great content.
I would like to see more transparency about how tokens are rewarded. There should be a publicly available way to calculate how much an upvote helps based on Steem Power held by the curator and whatever else goes into it. There should also be a publicly available way to calculate how much a curator would earn at a given point of popularity reached based on his Steem Power.
I think Steem should have a tab on the platform with these aforementioned calculators so we can better understand what to expect. The incentive of Steem would work better if we understood the reward system better.
