Drugwars - A game with too many ideas

The block chain, and in particular the Steemit platform, offer the possibility to design games that reward users appropriately. But the goal of any game should always be that more players join. And that doesn't seem to have been Drugwars' goal.

A game that wants to attract many players must have as clear and simple rules as possible, so that it is easy to interpret for those who want to play it. In addition, they should be kept as little variation as possible in the course of time.

Well, Drugwars is at the antipodes of that. The rules have become more complex to the point that they have become unattractive even to players who have been around since the beginning.

In addition, players have been taken in a direction and then encouraged to go in the opposite direction. For example, at one point there was a suggestion of gangs, which seemed to be aimed at encouraging cooperative play. However, later on the same player was given the possibility to have several different bases, which evidently returns to prioritizing solitaire strategies.

Similar things happened with other aspects of the game. The problem is that you haven't followed and respected a clear idea from the beginning about what you wanted from the game. It has been modified according to new ideas that instead of improving it ended up worsening it.

However, there are some improvements to the game that have been positive, such as the inclusion of a map and several related to the aesthetic aspect. And considering that it's a game in development, they might at some point find the definitive rule-scheme that makes it attractive to new and old players.
