RE: Steem Basic Income (SBI) - Interview with @dynamicgreentk

in #steembasicincome7 years ago (edited)

Great interview. Its interesting hearing from others in this community. Would be nice to add 'ask joe a question' at the end.
In my opinion sbi is a great addition to steemit, the only thing thata may stop more new comers committing to sbi would be a large price increase in steem.

Keep up the good work

Thanks for your feedback! We try to remain accessible through comments and our new discord https://discord.gg/WWUNapu but it could still be fun to have interviewees leave off with a question for @josephsavage to answer in publication.

My question is this. How or will you adapt Sbi to the new token @ned is talking about for post promotion?

Just another SMT, except specifically developed by Steemit. Since it would not be stake-weighted, it would not scale to our existing model. However, we would probably pick up a few as our members continue to upvote our updates.
Most likely outcome is we convert those to STEEM and use them to power up the SBI 2.0 account that rewards community engagement.

But think about this... you create another token that does not impact distribution of itself (no stake-weighting), does not impact bandwidth, etc.

What gives that token value? Collecting as many as you can shows that you are a good person?

Unless other programs start using your stake in it as an input into their own rewards schema, there is no incentive to hold it, collect it, or buy it. No incentive to do anything but sell it. Maybe we should call it SteemitDogeCoin instead.

I love getting achievements from @steemitboard, but they don't pay the bills.

I'm happy with this news you bring Joe! Just so you know the achievements are meaningless next to the level ups!
