Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.

When we launched Steem Basic Income, we started with a contest to make it widely available without people having to pay to join. The Daily Sneak still sponsors 2 to 5 people every day. With this history, we are thrilled to see so many members picking up the baton and holding contests to decide who to sponsor into Steem Basic Income. Great job, everyone!

Enrollment
If you want to get involved, or to increase the share of basic income that you receive, enrollment is pretty straightforward:
Just send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of a Steemian to sponsor in the transaction memo (preceded by @). You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 share in the program. You can sponsor any active Steemian, it does not have to be a current member.

The official currency for enrollment is STEEM. We accept SBD at our discretion (usually when they're very close, or when SBD is stronger) but you do not receive extra value or any partial refund for paying in SBD instead of STEEM. If we choose to accept an SBD enrollment, we accept the entire amount. If we choose to reject it, we refund the entire amount and request you to send STEEM instead.

Pay It Forward Curation Contest can be added to your list. It's a weekly contest that starts each Tuesday morning US and runs for the entire week. The amount of SBI sponsorships is directly tied to the number of entries with no less the 4 SBI's shares for the week.

Done weekly. 2 shares per week (I pay for these and I expect it to be bigger in the future). To enter you have to write, and then share link in the discord in the correct channel(in post). The top ones picked by community(explained in post) get 1 SBI share each plus some other cool rewards.
Bounty contests are always a great way to spread awareness of good programs. Thanks for sharing; added it to the post!

Thanks for the post. I bought 4 shares of steembasicincome ( sponsored 4 people)2 or 3 weeks ago and have not seen any service or any indication that I am a part of this . I had 9 more Steem I put aside to buy and sponsor more people but until I find out what is going on here..well I will hold off on that.
So not sure about any of this ?? I would love if someone responded . When I tried it in the past with other issues at Steemit (totally unrelated to steembasicincome) , I always received 'crickets'.
So keeping my fingers crossed this can be addressed and my issue can be resolved :)

It sounds so easy but I do not even know how to pay. I guessthis is all known by long term Steemians. There is not even a simple guideline for newbies
Go to your wallet. Click the little down arrow next to STEEM and the menu that you see in the photo below will pop up. Click on Transfer.
Then you need to fill in the information as seen below, but replace the name in the memo with the person you are sponsoring. Include the @ sign in front of their name.
