Bike is laid down to the left , Boot Scraping and Bad Road Surface just ahead?, not a chance we will be unscathed from this!

Remember my own rules for a fast run in Part3?

Some of this I obviously found out later.

As we started to slide , Chris says , I grabbed her by the Collar and hurled her off the Bike, I remember heading towards a Concrete Gusset next to the Road , swinging upwards, and the Bike and I flying through the air!

At some point my face smashed down into the instrument cluster!

I eventually ended up next to the Bike quite far off the Road doused in Petrol.

I recall Peter shouting is your Back Broken, to which I grunted and they dragged me away from the bike by my feet.

The Bike burst into flame , but someone must have had a fire-extinguisher?

I remember 2 Provincial Cops coming up to me , nudging me with a boot and saying in Afrikaans, " This Guy won't last ten minutes."

I wondered who they were talking about?

Peter came running up to tell me , "Don;t worry Alan, I am picking up the teeth and pieces of Bone?"

I am not exactly sure how that would calm one down, but I was starting to feel really tired? ( and sore)

I asked him about Chris? ( quite difficult to do with your jaw broken in 6 places! ( as I recall)

He told me that Gayle was sitting with Her, and she was OK.

This. of course, was before Cell Phones ,and those Policeman must have used a Radio to call an Ambulance.

The ambulance took 3.5 Hours to arrive!

Peter was told to rush to my parents place and tell them if they wanted to see me while I was still alive?, to rush to Paardekraal Hospital in Krugersdorp!

I do not recall the ambulance, but Chris told me that they put a drip in my arm and then the other Guy removed it saying it was a waste ,and I would not make it to the Hospital.

Chris was 29 at this Stage and I was 33, the only thing I could remember when we reached the Hospital was My Parents number and that Chris was 55 years Old.

Peter also went to our House to let my Mother-in-Law know that we were a bit delayed, her response was ( in Afrikaans) " Don't they know Sunday is the Day I wash my Hair?"( in my case, probably not?)

Luckily I have 5 Brothers and Sisters and My Parents, so our 3 Kids were well taken care of . ( and Spoiled)

I at the Time was an inactive member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and 2 of them came to Give us a Priesthood Blessing by the laying on of Hands.
I was told later that after giving me a blessing they both had to go lie down at the Hospital, it was as though I had taken all their energy from them!

The Doctor whop operated on me said both My Elbows were shattered and the only choice I had was to have them locked bent or straight, my choice!
Despite my jaw, he understood me perfectly when I told him what I thought of that idea?
