STEEM JOBS NOW: How You Can Earn Stable Income On Steemit By Writing For Steem WikipediasteemCreated with Sketch.

Being broke sucks.

I was broke for the better part of 10 years because I never thought about money. I was wanting to change the world and I also was an impulsive person who was mostly interested in getting drunk as much as possible. Anyway, when Steem's Dark Necromancer period took hold, I wanted to find ways to earn stable income writing on Steemit because the post rewards had mostly dried up at that point.

So, how can you make some stable income if you're a decent writer but not a successful blogger on Steemit? What if you have the drive, intellect and ambition, but don't yet know how to make decent payouts from your Steemit posts?

ENTER STEEM CENTER

Steem Center is a Wikipedia for all things Steem. I like to call it STEEM WIKI, even though it's called STEEM CENTER. I've written several articles for it. You can see the articles I've written here and here. I wrote Daniel Larimer's entry in Steem Center. But it still needs some work, so if you want to improve upon it, please go for it.

I wrote for the Steem Center when the value of Steem was low and I was afraid of going broke again.

It gave me some peace of mind, knowing that I could get a job right within Steemit. Of course, you really should be a decent writer in order to create value for the Steem Wiki. Your article will be edited by the people who run Steem Wiki, but please write your article as factually correct and also as neutral as possible. Don't make the editors work hard. So, all you writers out there who are looking for a side hustle, here's your chance.

Here's how to start earning some Steem by writing articles for the Steem Wiki:

STEP 1: GO TO STEEM CENTER

STEP 2: SIGN UP FOR AN ACCOUNT

In order to prevent spam, @someguy123 needs to verify you before you start writing articles:

To prevent spam, we require users to be verified before editing. Simply sign up, and then PM Someguy123 on https://steemit.chat and you'll be added ASAP.

STEP 3: DECIDE WHICH ARTICLE YOU WILL WRITE ABOUT

There is an ongoing list of articles that need to be written right now. To see the list articles to choose from, go here:
https://www.steem.center/index.php?title=Articles_for_Creation
The articles that no one has claimed and that need to be written are in the color red.

STEP 4: LET @Someguy123 know you've written an article.

STEP 5: GET PAID

Although Steem.center wiki is owned by @someguy123, the @steemcenterwiki idea of rewarding the collaborators was proposed by @wagnertamanaha last year. After approved by him, it's running as an independent project since that.
Recently we revived the Steemit.chat #wiki channel for any needed personal help or talk.

If you've never edited an article on Wikipedia, then you have some learning to do. There are certain rules for writing on Steem Center. But it's a good skill to have. I can't remember how much I earned. But your pay is dependent upon how much you write. If you write a little, you'll make a little. If you write a lot, you'll make a decent amount. Ask @someguy123 how much you could earn.

Good luck, and pass this on to anyone who needs a writing job.

Hey @someguy123: You misspelled my name in Steem Center. It should be Leah Stella Stephens (you left off the "h" in Leah)

By the way, did you know I created an entire series of Steemicide Hotline videos that document the struggles, pain and passion of Steemit in its early days?

To binge watch these videos, go here.

Cheers,
Stellabelle

Thank you very much for your post!

Thanks for your support, participation and good luck again!

Thanks for the information @stellabelle, I might try my hand at creating an article on the 'Steem Wiki'.

I have a few questions which perhaps you can answer for me:

How does the getting paid actually work? Is it tied in with the usual publishing and curration rewards or it is someting that @someguy123 doles out according to what the administrators think was a useful edit?

How much could you expect to receive for creating a brand new article?

How much could you expect to receive for a few minor modifications to an existing article?

Hi @avarice, here are some info we think can help you about our project:

The paid is done by sharing the amount of STEEM collected in @steemcenterwiki account in the previous month, so it varies according to each period's payouts and donations performance. For example, in February we shared the record of 419.880 STEEM between 10 participants.

The division of the month's sum of STEEM would be balanced by an equal part for each participant plus a proportional part by the number of editions each participant made in the period. You can see the proposed rules here: https://steemit.com/wiki/@steemcenterwiki/rules

For any needed personal help or talk, there is a Steemit.chat #wiki channel or you can also reply in any @steemcenterwiki recent post if you prefer.

Thanks for your attention and if you liked the idea we hope you could join us anytime to help make https://www.steem.center in the wiki of all Steem related things.

Thanks for such a detailed, and helpful, response @steemcenterwiki

You need to ask @someguy123 these questions. When I wrote those articles, my work was determined by how much volume I did. I can't remember how much I was paid, but I know it's doled out, divided up by how much volume you do. If you write a lot, you will earn more. I think I earned around 20 Steem, but I cannot remember......20 Steem is actually great...you need to ask him those questions.

Cool, okay. Thanks for your quick response and for your upvote! =)

How much could you expect to receive for creating a brand new article?

I cannot remember.....I know it was a decent amount, and I think it depends on how much Steem exists to be split among the writers. Back then, I made more writing on steem Center than I did on posting on Steemit....but I cannot remember now.

So, how can you make some stable income if you're a decent writer but not a successful blogger on Steemit?

memes. memes every time.

We should have a meme war.

Estupenda oportunidad!

basically, here is the idea:
Steemit Story Contest For Venezuelans: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A VENEZUELAN
The concept is a story competition. The idea is to convey in words and images what it is actually like to live in Venezuela right now.
What are you doing?
What kind of work?
What is it like to get food and water?
What's the internet like?
How do you exchange Steem for Bolivar?
How is money working in Venezuala?
what are people doing and feeling and thinking?
Who is creating a solution? Are people starving to death?

Basically, the stories that capture the real feel of life in Venezuela, will win the competition.....i'm still working out the prizes.....
That's the general idea....what do you think?

This is interesting for me! i want in!

Thing is, it's up to you. It's available for all. As long as you're a decent writer. If your grammar is good, then it will work.

Well, my grammar in English is not the best, but i think is average o.k. for a non native English speaker... Let me know when the contest start, i would like to try... :)

If your grammar is bad, then you need to get someone to help edit. Don't create subpar work for the Wikipedia please.

do you live in Venezuela? That's the only rule.

yes i do of course...

ok, i didn't know...

Hi @stellabelle, i give you a touch on email!

hey do you have time right now to discuss the story contest idea?

@stellabelle are you in some chat?

you can chat with me on twitter:

I'm glad of the reminder. I created and edited a few articles and then went off to do other stuff and forgot about it. I'll make a note in my journal to make it a regular habit.
