Steemchurch: We Are All Visitors, But What Type?

One peculiar thing about visitors is that when they go to a place, they must leave after a while. So, as far as this world is concerned, we are all visitors. The question is what will our visit be remembered for?

A read through Luke 10:30-35 reveals 3 groups of visitors based how they influence/impact on the visited.

(1) The negative impact group.- (Vs. 30).
Your situation is worse by the time they leave you. The encounter of the traveller with robbers left him wounded.

As you read this post, does it remind you of the emotional, physical, spiritual, financial or psychological wound that man/woman inflicted on you?.

The ancestor of this group is Satan when he visited the garden of Eden (Gen 3). He left Adam & Eve spiritually wounded. But there's good news for you.

(2) The zero impact group -(Vs. 31-32).
Your situation still remains the same by the time these ones leave you because they make no impact nor add any value to your situation. This is what the Priest & the Ĺevite (men of God) did.

Imagine the high hopes of the wounded man when he saw them coming & his dashed hopes as he watched them pass by, offering no help.

Have you been disappointed like this before? Again, i say there's good news for you.

But before we go to the 3rd group, let it be known that not preaching the gospel is one way of putting ourselves into this group.

(3) The positive impact group - (Vs. 33-35).
Like the good Samaritan, these ones add value to your situation and leave you better than they met you.

They show (I) compassion -vs. 33,

And even
(iii) cost-bearing - vs. 35.

The good Samaritan is a pointer to the Good Shepherd Jesus Christ who is the perfect example of this group.

Lk. 4:18-19 gives the mission statement of His 1st coming and it gave me a word and good news for someone reading this post.

There'll be a manifestation of the compassion, care and cost-bearing actions of our Lord Jesus Christ in your situation and life this month in Jesus name, Amen.
