EFFECT OF UNFORGIVENESS

in #steemchurch5 years ago

Forgiveness is the act of letting go of one's hurt,an act of letting go other people's wrong doing to you and probably forgetting about them.

It's one thing we do everyday or atleast once in a while and also expect from others because as human beings we would always have the tendency to hurt people and get hurt even unknowingly.

But forgiveness can be one of the most difficult things to do especially if you have been badly hurt and worse more if the person actually did it initially just to get at you.

Some person's can be terrible, some can go as far as lying against you just to get at you, this is one of the most painful aspects for forgiveness especially if you were humiliated or publicly exposed for what you never did.

HOW DOES UNFORGIVENESS AFFECT US

There is a saying that says "if you want to live well, forgive". Sincerely though it hurts alot but when you refuse to forgive people for wrongs they have done to you,you suffer too in the process. Unforgiveness can be associated with stagnation, when you keep thinking of what someone did wrong to you,you will always find yourself dwelling in the past, you feel so bad thinking of how to get back at the person, thinking of how "Karma" will catch up with the person and your present activities gets to suffer because you can't find strength to move on.

It's never so easy to forgive especially if the person never came to apologise to you and acknowledging that he or her wronged you but then for your sake, your emotional well-being you have to find strength and forgive, when you forgive gradually you will forget only with time, even if you don't forget but you wouldn't have to let it get into you again even when you remember it.

Do you want to live healthy and free? You must learn how to forgive, even our Father in heaven forgives us of our wrong doings,so who are we not to forgive?

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT FORGIVENESS?

LUKE 17:3-4
"Pay attention and always be on your guard [looking out for one another]. If your brother sins (misses the mark), solemnly tell him so and reprove him, and if he repents (feels sorry for having sinned), forgive him".

Vs 4 "And even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and turns to you seven times and says, I repent [I am sorry], you must forgive him (give up resentment and consider the offense as recalled and annulled".

Remember it may not always be easy,it's okay to get angry but then the best thing to do is to always forgive and forget it ever happened.

I hope this ministers to someone, thanks for dropping by!
