Small Yet Mighty: The Power of The Tongue
The tongue is a smallest part of the human body yet mighty. It has the ability to control our whole life.

The bible compares it to a horse who is a powerful animal that is really difficult to control if not for the help of a bit that is placed in its mouth. The bit helps a rider to control the animal and directs it to any location he pleases.

Again the bible compares it to a bigger ship, with such a huge vessel a small rudder that rotates easily moves it anywhere on the sea.

This should tell you how powerful the tongue is, though small yet it's like fire that can cause a big forest to burn.
Now if we put bits into horses’ mouths to make them obey us, we can guide their whole bodies as well. And look at ships! They are so big that it takes strong winds to drive them, yet they are steered by a tiny rudder wherever the helmsman directs. In the same way, the tongue is a small part of the body, yet it can boast of great achievements. A huge forest can be set on fire by a little flame. James 3:3-5
WHAT MAKES OUR TONGUE SO POWERFUL?
The human tongue is just like any other part of our body but there is something that makes it so powerful and that is the words that comes out of it. Words are very powerful.
Jesus said:
The sprit gives life but the flesh profits nothing, the words that I speak to you, they are spirit and life. John 6:63
This should should tell you that it is the words that come out of the mouth that makes it so powerful.

A man who is evil always speaks and evil is unleashed, for out of the evil treasure of his heart bring forth that which is evil. A good man too always speak and good things are unleashed for out of the treasure of his good heart bring forth that which is good.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:46
Anybody can just speak but the power that backs the words to make it powerful depends on the kind of spirit the dwells in that person.
Jesus carried the Holy Spirit and not only that, the Spirit of God was upon him and anything that came out his mouth was good, his words gave healing to people, freedom to the oppressed, liberty to the captives and salvation to the lost.
Our words to carry power we must be filled with the Holy Spirit continually. it is the Holy Spirit that empowers our words and if you lack it you will always speak and nothing happens.
USE YOUR TONGUE TO CONTROL YOUR WORLD
Just like horsemen uses bit to control horses and sea men use rudder to control big ships the same way we are to use our tongue to control our world. We live in two worlds. The first world is the physical world we all live in and the other world is your personal life.
There are many things that you can't control all by yourself in this world, accidents are bound to happen, people will surely die and a lot of catastrophes will happen from time to time. We can't control many of such incidents but in our personal world, you are the master controller who determines what happens or what shouldn't happen.

It is time we use our tongues to speak words that are powerful to cause the change we need, to bring the kind of transformation we are looking for, the bring the healing we need, the bring the breakthrough we are looking for. As a believer of God, If you know the power that is on our tongues you will not speak anyhow, for your words can condemn or justify.
The bible says that wherever the word of the king is there is power. Kings just speak and issue a command and an order is carried out. The roman centurion said to Jesus to just say a word for his servant to be healed, that's all he needed.
And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and ready to die. And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant And when they came to Jesus, they besought him earnestly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: For he loves our nation, and he has built us a synagogue. Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not yourself: for I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof: Therefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto you: but say a word, and my servant shall be healed. For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it. When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel. And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick. Luke 1:1-10
He was a man who understood the power of the tongue and knew that words are powerful. He had faith that Jesus was a man of authority, a king who didn't need to go to house just to perform a miracle. He knew that kings gives orders and assingmnent is carried out.
Understand from today you are a king and wherever your words go to there will be power to influence. Don't remain silent, speak over that situation, that problem, that illness , that job issue, that devil and power will be released to effect a change.

We really have to be careful the way we use our tongues. If it is not used properly in can get us in trouble. We also do not want to use the mouth we use to praise God to say vile things. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you too for reading and for the resteem
This post is found to be valuable ,Jesus Christ said, the words I they are Spirit and they are life,
Meaning every word we speak produce it fruits and the fruits are our daily life living, let speak well to leave well.
We should always speak what brings life
Tongues are powerful and is able to destroy lives. An adage will say, "Where the feet has not gone to,the tongue is already there" We need to speak positive things to ourselves and they will obey. The Bible say "decree a thing,it shall be established" So know that whatever you say with your mouth, will come to pass. Speak good things to yourself and it will be so

Indeed the human tongue is small but mighty. You have really said a lot about it and all that you have said are true. Nice piece @collins
