Where are you?
Why did he hide?

Imagine these words being spoken by God himself. Imagine him calling for Adam in the Garden of Eden, shortly after he and Eve sinned.

"BUT THE ETERNAL GOD CALLED THE MAN AND ASKED HIM:" WHERE ARE YOU? "THE MAN ANSWERED," I HAVE HEARD YOUR VOICE, WHEN YOU WERE PASSING THROUGH THE GARDEN, AND I WAS AFRAID BECAUSE I WAS NAKED, SO I HIDDEN ME "GENESIS 3:. 9:10

Adam and Eve had sinned. And because they became aware of it, they hid. They were embarrassed to be naked. What was once a natural and pure thing, now was something shameful. What made you feel that way? WITHOUT.

Sin makes you feel impure. Make you afraid.

And what is your attitude?

If you hide and try to cover yourself with fig leaves, as Adam and Eve did.

"AT THAT TIME THE EYES OF THE TWO WERE OPENED, AND THEY PERCEIVED THAT THEY WERE NUDE, THEN SEATED SOME LEAVES OF FIG LINE FOR USING THEM AS THINGS." GENESIS 6: 7.

The things in our life are not different.

When we sin and know it, we hide with fear. And we try to cover with leaves, which are our excuses. We tried to hide behind the leaves, which theoretically hid us from God. These sheets (excuses) we thought would be able to hide from the eyes of the Lord.

But did God not know where Adam and Eve were, who called for them?

Of course he knew. We are talking about an omniscient and omnipresent God.

"THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE EVERYWHERE" PROVERBS 15: 3

If God knew where they were, why then did He call them?

Because I wanted to know about them repentance, God wanted to hear the confession of sin.

We like to play hide-and-seek with Him, thinking that He will delay in finding us. We like to sin and hide. We think that He will not find us. We think that we are so well hidden in the middle of our fig leaves, that He will not see us.

But God does not like to play hide-and-seek. Because he does not have fun. He is in ALL places, and always knows where you are! He will always find you!

"WHERE CAN I GO TO ESCAPE FROM YOUR SPIRIT? WHERE CAN I FLEE FROM YOUR PRESENCE? IF I RISE TO HEAVEN, YOU ARE THERE, IF YOU GO TO THE WORLD OF THE DEAD, THERE YOU ARE ALSO IF YOU FLY TOWARD THE EAST OR LIVING IN THE MOST WIDE PLACES OF THE WEST, EVEN THERE YOUR GUIDE GUIDES ME, EVEN THERE YOU HELP ME, I COULD ASK THAT THE DARK WILL HIDE ME AND THAT AROUND ME THE LIGHT WILL TURN NIGHT, BUT THAT WOULD NOT AHEAD ANYTHING BECAUSE FOR YOU THE DARKNESS IT IS NOT DARK, AND THE NIGHT IS AS CLEAR AS THE DAY, YOU DO NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LIGHT AND THE DARKNESS. "PSALMS 139: 7-12

But one very cool thing about God, is that if you play hide-and-seek with Him, He's going to ask you the question of finding you and He's still going to welcome you with open arms.

I do not know your sins, but God knows. And from my own experience I say that I have already sinned and tried to hide from the face of God, but it has not resolved much. I tried to flee and run, but God sought me and brought me back. Every fig leaf that I tried to use to cover my sin was a vain excuse. It was a waste of time, when all God wanted was to hear from my mouth the confession of my sins.

Now, stop for a minute to hear the voice of God ... are you not calling his name?
