There are times when we believe that to serve the Lord we must be perfect, renowned or recognized people in some field, but the truth is that to serve the Lord we must have a heart truly willing to do his will.
As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; because they were fishermen. 19 And he said to them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 They immediately left their nets and followed him.
Matthew 4:18-20
Let's talk about Peter, this was an ordinary man who lived a time that many of us would have liked to live, he belonged to that generation that saw the Lord Jesus Christ walk, shared with him, saw him die and later rise again.
Andrew, brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who had heard John, and had followed Jesus. 41 This man first found his brother Simon, and said to her, We have found the Messiah (which is translated, the Christ). 42 And he brought Jesus to him. And Jesus looking at him, he said, You are Simon, son of Jonah; you will be called Cephas[a] (which means, Peter[b]).
John 1:40-42
Andrés, at that time Peter's brother was the one who led him to know Jesus Christ, he invited his brother to be part of the disciples of Jesus Christ and they both left their job to follow the Lord.
Little by little the apostle Peter has become a passionate follower, demonstrating day after day that desire to be close to our Lord Jesus Christ and serve him with all his strength, we can see this evidenced when he met the Lord Jesus Christ in the water during the storm or when I talk to him at the moment of his transfiguration.
But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying: Take heart; I am, do not fear! Then Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be you, command that I come to you on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water to go to Jesus.
Matthew 14:27-29
We see that Peter's character was changing little by little, at first he was too impulsive and this led him to have some problems like when the Lord Jesus Christ spoke about his suffering and death, at this moment Peter objected as if he had more knowledge than the Lord Jesus Christ himself, for this Jesus quickly exhorted him.
Six days later, Jesus took Peter, James, and his brother John, and led them up a high mountain apart; 2 and he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. 3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, speaking with him. 4 Then Peter said to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us that we are here; If you want, let's make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah. 5 While he was still speaking, a cloud of light covered them; and behold, a voice from the cloud said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; listen to him.
Matthew 17:1-5
Pedro little by little learned from all the mistakes he had made and subsequently had a great responsibility in his hands, he is a great example of how some of us can also put aside some personal desires and accept wholeheartedly the life of Jesus Christ and live in his will so that we have greater intimacy with the Lord Jesus Christ.
And calling the people and his disciples, he said to them: If anyone wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mark 8:34
The Lord does not choose the best, he chooses ordinary people to lead them to become the best just as he trained Peter to build his kingdom for posterity, the Lord asks us to love him above all the things and the fruit of love is obedience and good works. Are you committed to loving Jesus Christ?

Hay veces que creemos que para servir al señor debemos ser personas perfectas, renombradas o reconocidas en algún ámbito, pero la verdad es que para servir al señor debemos tener un corazón verdaderamente dispuestos a hacer su voluntad.
Andando Jesús junto al mar de Galilea, vio a dos hermanos, Simón, llamado Pedro, y Andrés su hermano, que echaban la red en el mar; porque eran pescadores. 19 Y les dijo: Venid en pos de mí, y os haré pescadores de hombres. 20 Ellos entonces, dejando al instante las redes, le siguieron.
Mateo 4:18-20
Hablemos de Pedro, este era un hombre común que vivió un tiempo que muchos de nosotros nos hubiese gustado vivir, ha pertenecido a esa generación que vio caminar al señor Jesucristo, compartió con él, lo vio morir y resucitar posteriormente.
Andrés, hermano de Simón Pedro, era uno de los dos que habían oído a Juan, y habían seguido a Jesús. 41 Este halló primero a su hermano Simón, y le dijo: Hemos hallado al Mesías (que traducido es, el Cristo). 42 Y le trajo a Jesús. Y mirándole Jesús, dijo: Tú eres Simón, hijo de Jonás; tú serás llamado Cefas[a] (que quiere decir, Pedro[b]).
Juan 1:40-42
Andrés, en ese momento el hermano de Pedro fue quien lo llevó a conocer a Jesucristo, él le invitó a su hermano a ser parte de los discípulos de Jesucristo y ambos dejaron su oficio para seguirle al Señor.
Poco a poco el apóstol Pedro se ha convertido en un seguidor apasionado demostrando día tras día ese deseo de estar cerca de nuestro señor Jesucristo y servirle con todas sus fuerzas, esto podemos ver en evidenciado cuando se encontró con el señor Jesucristo en el agua durante la tormenta o cuando hablo con él en el momento de su transfiguración.
Pero en seguida Jesús les habló, diciendo: ¡Tened ánimo; yo soy, no temáis! Entonces le respondió Pedro, y dijo: Señor, si eres tú, manda que yo vaya a ti sobre las aguas. 29 Y él dijo: Ven. Y descendiendo Pedro de la barca, andaba sobre las aguas para ir a Jesús.
Mateo 14:27-29
Vemos que el carácter de Pedro fue mudando poco a poco, en principio era demasiado impulsivo y esto lo llevó a tener algunos problemas como cuando el señor Jesucristo habló de su sufrimiento y muerte, en este momento Pedro objeto como si tuviese más conocimiento que el señor Jesucristo mismo, para esto Jesús lo exhortó rápidamente.
Seis días después, Jesús tomó a Pedro, a Jacobo y a Juan su hermano, y los llevó aparte a un monte alto; 2 y se transfiguró delante de ellos, y resplandeció su rostro como el sol, y sus vestidos se hicieron blancos como la luz. 3 Y he aquí les aparecieron Moisés y Elías, hablando con él. 4 Entonces Pedro dijo a Jesús: Señor, bueno es para nosotros que estemos aquí; si quieres, hagamos aquí tres enramadas: una para ti, otra para Moisés, y otra para Elías. 5 Mientras él aún hablaba, una nube de luz los cubrió; y he aquí una voz desde la nube, que decía: Este es mi Hijo amado, en quien tengo complacencia; a él oíd.
Mateo 17:1-5
Pedro poco a poco aprendió de todos los errores que había cometido y posteriormente tuvo en sus manos una gran responsabilidad, él es un gran ejemplo de cómo también algunos de nosotros podemos dejar de lado algunos deseos personales y aceptar de todo corazón la vida de Jesucristo y vivir en su voluntad de manera que tengamos una mayor intimidad con el señor Jesucristo.
Y llamando a la gente y a sus discípulos, les dijo: Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese a sí mismo, y tome su cruz, y sígame.
