PSALM 1: 1-6

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Being devoted in your daily walk with God is essential for grthh. We need to stay close to Him by reading the Scriptures and talking with Him in prayer daily. These special fertilizers are vital to growth that bears fruit. They are essential ingredients required to shape us in the likeness of the Saviour. In most plants, the root system is below the ground and serves primarily to anchor the plant in the soil and take up water and minera 5. Roots may be less familiar than the more visible flowers, stems, and leaves, but they are no less important to the plant. The growth and branches of a plant will only be as healthy as its roots are strong and deep. A palm tree can grow in the most desert-like conditions. In drought everything around it will dry up and die, but the palm tree will continue to grow in freshness. This is because it has a long tap root that goes deep into the ground and finds the water beneath. So it is with us as Christians.

To be rooted is to strengthen with roots, to render firm, to fix, establish, and cause a person or a thing to be thoroughly grounded. And grounded means: to lay the foundation (resting on and in Christ), to make stable and establish. If we are to be rooted and grounded in the Lord, we must allow the Holy Spirit to work in us through God's words. Otherwise, we may be swept away by the devil's delusive snares. Being rooted in the Lord means we are anchored on Christ the Rock against the billows of life struggles and wind of doctrines that tossed people here and there. So, plant yourself every day at the feet of the Father and you will not be moved. Let us take great pleasure in the study of the Word. As we dwell in it, allow it to sink deeply and penetrate our hearts and our daily lives, we will be rooted in the Lord for that eternal reward.
