SteemChurch: God in pain, when he knocks on your door.

in #steemchurch7 years ago

Change and loss are inevitable. However, they have not taught us to lose, on the contrary, we were trained to go out and win, to compete, to fight, and if something negative happens to cover it, deny it or minimize it.
Just as we can have ten thousand joys in life we can have ten thousand sorrows. Sooner or later everyone at some point we face some loss, whether the death of a loved one, the loss of health, a relationship you thought of for a lifetime, loss of economic assets, ideals and dreams, death of a pet, or a move.
As much as we know that it is normal for circumstances to change all the time, knowing this does not make us immune to a feeling of grief.

That is what I have been living in this last day, the pain has touched my door in a surprising way, One of the leaders of my life project, friend, has left at the moment in which I needed her the most, she was my I support in my dream to build Steemchurch Venezuela, worked tirelessly interceding, organizing to undertake this that was in my heart, it is gone, I am sure that it is in the presence of God.

God gave us the opportunity to share our dreams, she opened a path and I leave a trace to continue, Sister Johanny, you will always be present and today, although hurt by your departure, I have to strive to make everything we plan come true, that agenda that we build together it will take place.

You had the privilege of opening the Steemchurch Venezuela Meetup with the prayer that pours out the anointing. An unforgettable moment. You will always be our example, you told me what it would be @ Sc-v, what I would do in the world, your level of compassion was amazing. Today I want to honor your memory my always little sister Anny. Only God will give us strength to accept your physical departure.

The reality of pain

It would be naive to say that there is no such thing as pain, it is a reality that we live to each human being who steps on this earth floor. We all suffer to a greater or lesser extent, and that is the consequence of the tragedy of sin, which has as its protagonist man, from the garden of Eden. We all know someone who is going through suffering and afflictions, it can be a loss of a child, of a spouse; It can be a disease, and surely that pain will accompany many of them for the rest of their days.

The pain in the life of the believer

Psalm 88 takes us through the life of a believer who daily lived a suffering without rest. He himself narrates: "I have been afflicted and about to die from my youth" (v.15). Not only for a period of time, but as a young person he has spent every day in that condition, to the point of exclaiming: "For my soul is saturated with evil things, and my life has approached Sheol. I am counted among those who descend to the pit; I have become like a man without strength, abandoned among the dead; as those fallen by the sword lie in the grave, of whom you no longer remember, and who have been plucked from your hand "(vv.3-5).

The images used by the psalmist to describe his pain show us that his state is moribund, as if a pile of corpses was found, apparently forgotten, without hope to get out of there alive. The believer can come to experience in his life the greatest and deepest sufferings, diseases without a cure, and even death full of pain; because he is not alien to that reality, he still lives in this world, he is still subject to a body of death where sin dwells (Rom 7). And that this happens is not for him a sign of his downfall, but of his humanity.

God is sovereign and immutable

One of the things that most captivated my attention in this Psalm is that the psalmist is not mentioning the devil as the author of his pain and suffering, he does not blame a legion of demons that torment him, but he recognizes that God is above all the events of his life and that it is He who has allowed every affliction.

Constantly remembering the sovereignty of God is a consolation in our most difficult moments. He still sits on his throne, has not stopped reigning, has not turned his face and has been distracted for a moment. No, He has His eyes set on His children (Psalm 32: 8) and surrounds them as their protector (Psalm 125: 2). Nothing happens that God does not allow to happen. We see in Scripture, that satan himself had to ask God's permission to touch the life of Job's life (1:12).

Will you do wonders to the dead? Will the dead rise up and praise You? (Selah) Will His mercy be spoken of in the grave,
And of Your faithfulness in the Abaddon (place of destruction)? Will Your wonders be revealed in darkness, and Your righteousness in the land of oblivion? vv.10-12

This is beautiful, in the midst of all his pain, recognizing that it is the same God who has determined so much suffering for his life, there, in that state, the psalmist asks him to give him life to praise him, to give him life to speak of his mercy, of his fidelity, to tell of his wonders and his justice. What a wonderful faith! Have you seen that reaction? Reread those verses and see how a believer should always respond to pain.

God has not ceased to be faithful, nor merciful, nor just in the midst of your suffering! is not it wonderful? You can there praise him in that pain, you can recognize that he is still good despite what you live, that he has a purpose for his glory with what he has allowed in your life, he is no stranger and will never be neglecting the need of his children . He is the Father par excellence.

It's just a see you later ...
