The Love of God and the effect of His love in our lives - Biblical A Study
Few days ago, it was a blessing to attend a new biblical study in my neighbourhood. Its all fun and joy sharing God's word together. Our current series is on "The Effect of God's love". I hope you too will be blessed by the excerpt of this study.
INTRODUCTION
Beloved, the love of God for us compelled Him to send His only begotten son, Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross. The death of Jesus Christ is the expression of His love for all mankind (John 3: 16). The way individuals respond to His love determines the effect of it to such individual.
NOW THE STUDY
- God has proved to the whole world that He loves the world.
a. According to John 3: 16, how did God prove His love for the whole world? - By sending His only begotten son, Jesus Christ
b. When did God prove this love according to Romans 5: 8? - While we were yet sinners
c. What can one do to benefit from this love? John 3: 16 - Believing in Christ Jesus
d. What is the benefit of those who believe in Him? John 3: 16 - They are qualified for eternal life
e. Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? John 1: 12 Personal
f. What other things should you do to become a child of God? John 1: 12 - Receive the gift of Christ Jesus
g. What qualifies one to become a child of God? John 1: 12 Believing in God's gift
- God does not compel anybody to receive or believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, but He has shown us the consequences of not believing in or not receiving the Lord Jesus Christ.
a. According to John 3: 18, what happens to such people? Condemnation
b. The positive effect of His love to those who believe in Jesus is everlasting life (John 3: 16). What then is the effect of those who refuse to believe in Jesus Christ?
c. Also read John 3: 36. Mention the two things and explain them.
CONCLUSION
The effect of love in our lives, that is, for those who receive and believe in Jesus Christ is eternal life; but to those who refuse to accept God’s offer of His only begotten son, is the wrath of God and they are under condemnation. Thank God you have received and believed in Jesus. You are saved from the wrath of God to come.
