True love
Let us consider what true love is not:
- It is not false, fake or deceitful love.
- It is not selfish, or self-centred love.
- It is not perfect, or faultless love.
- It is not immature, or irresponsible love.
Key qualities for identifying true love:
Sound and cordial relationship with God.
Interest in knowing and being a blessing to you. “Then said Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, whose damsel is this?” (Ruth2:5).
Makes input into your life to bless and advance you without reducing you
Acts and speaks to build your confidence and esteem, never to humiliate you.
Stands with you patiently through your tough and difficult times fill your change comes. “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity” (Proverbs 17:17).
Beloved, do not marry a person who is not honest and transparent; does not show care and concern. Marry a person who makes effort to help you grow and get better.
