Power Over Your Will

A beautiful day to everyone, I have a small piece that would bless us.

Text: Genesis 4:7

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if
thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee
shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Cain and Abel, sons of the same parents gave their offerings to the Lord; God was pleased with Abel' s offering but He rejected that of Cain. God saw Cain' 5 response, he was angry and sad; God said: If you do things well, I will accept you, but if you do not do them well, sin is ready to attack you. Sin wants you, but you must rule over it (vs.7). Both Cain and Abel had wills; they purposed in their hearts and offered to God what they considered appropriate. They also chose their response to God's acceptance or rejection of their gifts.

How do you present your gifts to the Lord? He actually deserves the best. Abel went out of his way to please God; Cain was simply discharging a duty.

How precious is the seed you sow into God's kingdom? Cain had an opportunity to repent and make his way right with God but he ignored it. He was so angry and unrepentant; he would not be talked out of his sin even by God.

Sin wanted to rule Cain and he yielded’his will to it; he did not master it, he went ahead and killed his brother. You have power over your will (Romans 12: 21).

You do not have to repay anyone evil for evil, or revenge, you can choose to do what is good and right, you have a will. Every living being is tempted at one time or the other but you can always choose your response (James 1: 14-15).

Anyone who is filled with envy and strife like Cain is a prey for the evil one. Let the fruit of the spiI it be manifest in you always (Galatians 5: 22-23).

I pray that our Heavenly father helps us to give our best, go out of our way to do the right things and help us pay attention to correction and discipline in Him. Amen.

The devil will always want to use the flesh against us. I pray God will grant us the power to overcome the will of the flesh.

I have always thought about that word that God spoke to Cain, God wants his children to have victory over sin and for this he gave us his son and the Holy Spirit. Good Post brother
