DailyCelestialChallenge Tuesday-AnimalKingdom - The ants

In the word of God we find an animal of which little is spoken, but which gives a very large lesson, The ant.

Go to the ant, oh lazy, Look at his ways, and be wise; 7 Which has no captain, nor governor, nor lord, 8 He prepares his food in the summer, and gathers his maintenance in the time of harvest.Proverbs 6: 6-8

As far as the ant is concerned, it shows us the virtue of "diligence", the opposite of laziness. The ant teaches us this quality by means of the following:

The first thing we have to do is "see the ant" (v.6). This tells us that we must be willing to learn if we are going to overcome laziness. God tells us this morning by means of his word, we must be humble to learn that the ant! The ant has a lot to teach us even when it seems that it is not like that. Sometimes one can see an anthill full of ants moving in all directions as if they were disoriented and without direction in their work, but to assume this is incorrect since their activity is always directed with a purpose and with productivity in their work.

Second we see that the ant "does not have bosses or foremen" (v.7) to be diligent in their work. They do not need someone who is forcing them to work. As commentator John Walvoord puts it, "It is obvious that these insects do not have a leader, a captain, a governor who oversees their work, yet they work better than many people who are under the supervision of a leader." of us? We work voluntarily, or we need someone who is always pushing, encouraging, or ordering us to do what we already know we have to do.

Third, "he gathers his portion in the time of harvest" (v8). To all the opposite of the lazy, the ant takes advantage of the appropriate time to work to get more fruit. What about us? We fled to work! Do we disappear when we ask for help in the work of the Lord? Do we want the things that they fulfill without effort and dedication? or we take advantage and redeem our time to harvest the fruit of our labor. As the proverb says, "He who gathers in the summer is a learned man; He who sleeps in the time of harvest is a son who is ashamed "(10: 5). Let's take care that this does not happen to us, for being dozing and nodding when we should be making the most of the opportune time. Putting hands to the work!

Pray that this word will penetrate and fall on good soil in our hearts. There are times that we have to pray this, since the enemy would like to steal the seed so that it does not bear fruit in our hearts. I believe that God wants to raise a people of diligent and fervent people in spirit. What God has for us is that we have a lot of diligence and I work hard. We can not stay where we are! We must move forward and grow to the next level that God wants to take us. Together we can achieve it! Amen.

Sort:

The 'ant' is a truly fascinating animal Franklin - always diligently working as you have stated. Always a task to do without being told to do it. Everything for the colony, nothing for ones self. A purpose-filled life but without creativity, individuality or freedom. Certainly the way God intended them to live - but not us.

Cheers,

SirKnight!
