What a Christian must know and be careful of

Bribery is the act of giving money or something valuable to someone to plead him or her to help and in most cases in the act of dishonesty. God hates dishonesty and wouldn't want those who serve Him truly to be in the act of Bribery. The law of God that He gave to Moses for the people of Israel never allow taking of bribe.

Exodus 23:8
"And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous"

It was also said in Deuteronomy 16:19,

"Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous."

Samuel walked in the ways of the Lord and never took bribe from anyone. The people of Israel wanted another king and they told Samuel, he heard them and gave them a king, then afterwards, he stood and faced the people and asked them these questions,
**Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I wi restore it you (1 Samuel 12:3)

And the people told him to his face that he never did all what he asked from them. But his Sons did an abomination to God, they took bribe even in the house of God
1 Samuel 8:3

"And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgement"

True believers do not engage in such act because they know what the Bible says and also follow it. We have many Christians in church today who still collect bribe, including Pastors who collect bribe before they can perform any miracles. The truth is that God sees and knows everything and those engage in such act shall never go unpunished because Gos never bribe us of any miracles He is doing in our lives.

REASONS WHY PEOPLE COLLECT BRIBE

They collect bribe to keep jobs or contract for the fear of not losing it

1. To cover up the mistakes or evil deeds they committed and they never want to suffer for it

2. They want to avoid wasting time on queue, so they pay to jump off the queue

Some will even say it is a way of life, as long as people are doing it, they also want to engage in such

In conclusion, bribery and corruption is against God's will for us and if we want to gain and enter the heavenly home, we should not allow it
