This week in the world there has been a lot of shocking and alarming news: corona-virus proliferation, subsequent deaths and global economic uncertainty that follows.

Today I just wanted to share my prayers for those affected by this poorly understood disease, for the families who have lost someone, and for the nations now beginning to panic as store shelves empty in preparation for a coming crisis.

In the coming weeks this disease will continue to grow, more people will be infected, and sadly more will die. As the magnitude of its reach grows, so will panic... but it doesn't have to be this way.

If we educate ourselves, prepare appropriately, and come together as a nation, we need not fear come what may.

And always, let us look to the Lord's living Word for instruction, and correction.

Hebrews 13:6 English Standard Version (ESV)

6 So we can confidently say,

“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?”

Isaiah 41:10 English Standard Version (ESV)

10 fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

My Prayer:

Lord help us in this time of darkness and death, suffering and loss. Let not selfishness and self-interest win our hearts, but shine Your light in us, so that this time of trial might point to your glory, truth and power. Lord use this dark time to reveal yourself to those who know you not. Humble us so that we might see our wretched state and desperate need for you Lord.

Sustain us Lord, deliver us from the temptation and evil of today. Help us hear your voice, and follow your ways. For our greatest good. You are worthy Lord. In Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.
