The Betrothal - Mattew 1:18-21

18. Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit.

19. And her husband Joseph, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.

20. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

21. And she will bring forth a son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.

The Birth of Jesus - Luke 2:1-20

Jesus was born during the census period. During that time the emperor of Rome named Caesar Augustus decree that everyone living in his kingdom should go back to their lands and register their name, this happens during the era of Quirinius as the governor of Syraia. Joseph and his household are not excluded, he and his family went from Galilee to his own land called Bethlehem, the land of David. While in Bethlehem Mary goes into labour but there was no empty room in the inn where she could stay to deliver, they later found a stable where our Lord Jesus Christ was delivered. Mary wrapped him with a cloth and laid him on a manger.

The wise men visit shows that Jesus and is still the greatest, in him lies the greatness of his personality which compel great men from a distant land to come looking for Him. He was been honoured at birth. This shows that His greater than the greatest. They present before Him three most expensive and precious gift ever namely:
