Take your bed and walk.

Friends of steemit today we will meditate on a biblical passage that is found in the book of john.

John(5: 1-14) "After these things there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And there is in Jerusalem, near the gate of the sheep, a pool, called in Hebrew Bethesda, which has five porches. In these lay a multitude of sick, blind, lame and paralytic, who waited for the movement of water. Because an angel descended from time to time into the pond, and stirred the water; and the one who first descended into the pond after the movement of the water, was healthy from any disease he had. And there was a man there who was sick for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying down, and knew that he had been like this for a long time, he said: Do you want to be healthy? Sir, the patient replied, I do not have anyone to put me in the pond when the water is stirred; and as long as I go, another descends before me. Jesus said to him: Get up, take your bed, and go. And immediately the man was healed, and took his bed, and walked. And it was a sabbath that day. Then the Jews said to him who had been healed: It is a sabbath; It is not lawful for you to take your bed. He answered them: He who healed me, himself said to me: Take your bed and go. Then they asked him: Who is it that said to you: Take your bed and walk? And he who had been healed did not know who he was, because Jesus had turned away from the people who were in that place. Then Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, "See, you have been healed; sin no more, lest something worse come to you."

The water to move With the hope of receiving health, a pond of the time that represented fortune and luck, the hope of the weak and needy was set in the movement of a water, imagine being 38 years waiting and not being able to enter, 38 years in the life of this man in a corner without help so that when the water moved he could receive healing.

In the time of Jesus, the name of Bethesda indicated four things, first, which means "house of outpouring" so that there God poured out his glory; second, it also meant "house of mercy" the people knew that there God felt compassion for the people; the third is that it was a house of grace, where God could heal the lost soul; The last name by which Bethesda was understood is "house of consolation" because there God consoled. In the middle of that house of consolation there was a man who for 38 years never received consolation and none of the people around him had compassion, nor did he have the feeling of comforting this man to come to the water.

A pond, a crowd, a need for consolation, a 38-year-old man who lost hope when he saw that nobody was going to throw him because everyone was in need and did not think about the other, but about himself, but in the middle from that tumult two men one without consolation and another who owns all the consolation, entered the pond, Jesus tells this man Do you want to be healthy? In a pond where everyone is sick, with 38 years sick, of course he wanted to be healthy, but the solution to his point of view was in others, in which someone threw it into the pond, and Jesus answers a sharp and piercing that pierced his heart, "get up and take your bed" he did not think twice, he did not think three times, something happened in his mind, in his bones that had the strength to carry the bed that for 38 years he carried Him .

I do not know what your situation is, but in the most critical moments the Lord of consolation can reach you, he can do for you a work that moves you from head to toe. Begin to proclaim what God has for you, the only one who can comfort you even in the crowd that does not reach out to you is Jesus, He can touch you with his compassion, if you have thoughts that stun you will see that this comforter, his Spirit will dissipate every cloud and his peace will come upon you.
