Do not forget hospitality, because some of them, without knowing it, hosted angels.

Even though we live in a world that promotes doing things your way, I have learned that to please God we need to respond to all his instructions with an obedient spirit, and this includes our response to what his Word teaches us about the hospitality.  

Romans 12:13 says that practicing hospitality is literally "pursuing the love of strangers." (Hebrews 13: 1-2), it's not just hanging out with our best friends. If we want to demonstrate obedience to our heavenly Father, we will practice biblical hospitality. 

 
The New Testament places much more importance on hospitality than Christian culture does today. It is not by chance that Paul says that a bishop has to be, "host" 

1 Peter gives us the instruction to practice hospitality, and reminds us that our attitude is of the utmost importance. The call is to practice hospitality without complaining. This verse challenges us to perform an analysis to discern if we are taking the opportunity to minister "with all our heart.  

Our motivation should never be to give to receive. Luke 6:38 clearly says that the measuring cup that we use to distribute our gifts and talents will be the same one that is used with us.

Biblically, love and hospitality go hand in hand, they are inseparable. And if they are inseparable, and if love is the main virtue of genuine Christianity, then hospitality is a primary duty of Christians. This means that just as love is not a small thing, hospitality is not a secondary issue either.
