FAITH + PATIENCE = THE POWER TWIN

in #steemchurch7 years ago

Faith and Patience are the basic foundations upon which we get all our prayers answered.

I once heard a sermon about this but didn't get to appreciate it until recently.

Sometimes God teaches us PATIENCE by allowing us go through some tests. The fruit of patience is always worth more than the test of faith.

Anchor scripture

Hebrews 6:12 (KJV)**
"That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises".

Beautiful verse indeed..

For the world of God to say we should follow others who have walked through this path of Faith and patience; it means there must be something of value in faith and patience.

What is Faith?

I have heard and read different definitions but I'll want to define FAITH as:

  • Forsaking
  • All
  • I
  • Trust
  • Him (God)

Faith is the main key to securing all of God's promises for you and without Faith it's IMPOSSIBLE to please God (the giver of the blessings).

Faith is unwavering trust in God's ability to do what He has promised to do.

  • God is not a joker and when He says something, He performs it. Hallelujah!

What is Patience?

Patience is a rare virtue, one of the fruits of the spirit and a virtue that every believer should desire.

Patience is the preserver of faith..

Patience is also the ability to wait on God with a positive attitude; without having any element of doubt

Abraham is the perfect example of someone who had both keys.

Romans 4:18-21

Romans 4:18-21
[18]Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!”

[19]And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb.

[20]Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.

[21]He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises

  • No wonder Abraham is the father of faith and patience

God gave him a promise that he would be the father of many nations at age 75, but the promised child came at age 100.

What kept Abraham's faith alive for 25 years was the force of PATIENCE and absolute trust in God

He was fully convinced beyond everyreasonable doubt that whatever God says, He creates it.

INSPIRATION

Has God promised you anything and you're yet to see the manifestation??.. Hold on with a positive and expectant attitude like Abraham. You'll surely see the manifestation

God is not late and His timing is always perfect.

  • Don't ever try to help God by looking for another alternative. Many have bent the knee to the devil by doing so.

Habakkuk 2:3
"This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.

Patience is a virtue of a mature Christian. When you have this, then nothing will move you because you'll know that God's time is perfect

This is my personal confession and it is still working

As long as I am still with God, then I have no fear of the future because God has already gone ahead of me into the future to perfect all that concerns me. Glory!

Conclusion

Hold fast the profession of your faith because therein lies amazing benefits

I hope this blesses someone. God bless you richly
