STEEMCHURCH: LEARNING REQUIRES HUMILITY

in #steemchurch6 years ago

It's been said that no one is an island of knowledge but sadly enough, not so many persons accept this sincerely. Most of us Christians think there's nothing so new in the bible that they don't know already or that can be explained to them.

They often think all questions of the bible has been answered by them and they know each verse just as a watchword. Yes! This may be true, i mean really true, but there is always a wider scope that can be reached. This means that your personal explanation or thinking about the scripture may be wrong or limited to your situation or circumstances.

2 Timothy 2: 14-17
14: Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16: But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
17: And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

It is important to search and examine the scripture daily with the spirit of humility in other
to acquire new knowledge or improve on what we already know. Mostly importantly, we all need to keep doing spiritual listening.

It requires great humility to learn even from those people we think they do not know or those we think are not old enough in the faith.
Don't focus on the age, the status, the mistakes, the presentation or even the grammar. But rather, focus on the message that God has for you through others.
Defensive hinder us from hearing what we ought to hear but our openness to feedback is a sign of humility.

Humility is the willingness to hear both encouragement and other feedbacks even when it is not comfortable. There are many things a man may not know till death, Therfore it is important that one studies well to know the ones that will help us in obtaining that divine reward.

Live accordingly, give yourself to learning, and be HUMBLE!!!

Shalom!!!
