1 Kings 17:8-24 Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960)
Elijah and the widow of Sarepta
8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying:
9 Arise, go to Zarephath of Sidon, and dwell there: behold, there have I given commandment to a widow to sustain thee.
10 And he arose, and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering wood: and he called her, and said unto her, Bring me, I pray thee, a little water in a cup, that I may drink.
11 And as she went to bring it to him, he called her again, and said unto her, Bring me also a morsel of bread in thy hand, I pray thee.
12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have no baked bread; I have only a handful of flour in the jar, and a little oil in a jar; and now I was gathering two logs, to go in and prepare it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and be left to die.
13 And Elijah said unto him, Fear not; go, do as thou hast said; but make me first of it a little cake baked under the ashes, and bring it to me; and afterward thou shalt make for thyself and for thy son.
14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel: The flour of the jar shall not run short, neither shall the oil of the jar diminish, until the day that the LORD rains upon the face of the earth.
15 And she went and did as Elijah said unto her: and he did eat, and she, and her house, many days.
16 And the flour of the jar was not scarce, neither did the oil of the jar diminish, according to the word which the LORD spake by Elijah.

Elijah the prophet of God persecuted by the government of Israel and the prophets of Baal, came to hide in a cave and there remained for several days and God used ravens to bring food to Elijah, until he told Elijah that it was to the people of Israel that there was he would use a woman to give him provision. When he arrived at the village he found a widowed woman who was working collecting firewood and he only approached her and asked her for a glass of water and then asked her for food but she humbly told him that she only had a little flour in a pot for her and her son. A humble woman who believed in God in faith.

She was very humble and full of faith by the word that the prophet gave her and her son, The flour of the jar will not be scarce, nor the oil of the jar will diminish, after having attended Elijah the prophet blessings rained shade the widow food never lacking in her home.

A woman with her widowed son without work because at that time they did not allow the women to work other than because it had not rained because the prophet Elijah prophesies about the drought on Israel. Many in moments like these we despair because we do not have to feed ourselves and the little we have costs us to share them and that leads us to make mean and selfish is what the enemy wants to sow in our hearts, because we do not allow it to do as the widow in faith gave of what she had and her flour was multiplied and her house never lacked food. We should be more humble and seek answers in God and not in man God is the owner of gold and silver and his children lack nothing.

For the widow believed in the word of the prophet Elijah that his house should not lack food.

Because your faith is not placed in the economic situation, it is placed in God....

The economic SITUATION drives you to pressure you so that your gaze is set on the true God.
