IN THE LAST DAYS....

I was standing in front of my house . It was a cool afternoon. My little brother came out and asked "Bro, which year is Jesus coming back? "
I always answer his questions with certainty and confidence. But I do not have the answer to his question and I had to admit my ignorance. I made it clear to him that no one knows exactly when Jesus is coming back. I referred him to Matthew 24:36 which says:

" But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not even the angels of heaven but my father alone"

I told him only the Father knows but we do know one thing, Jesus is ' coming' soon. He asked "how soon?" and I replied "soon". He was confused and asked how I knew Jesus was coming soon when no one knows when he is coming back. I simply told him Jesus has told us the signs that we will see prior to His return and that we can see those signs everywhere today.

SIGNS OF THE LAST DAYS
Jesus Christ himself gave the list of the signs of the times that we would see prior to His return to the earth. Jesus himself gave the list so we know it is 100% accurate.

√ Natural disasters, wars and rumours of wars:
Matthew 24:4-8 says:

“Jesus answered and said to them: ‘Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows’”

Natural disasters, war and rumours of war continue to dominate news headlines. Nations will continue to wage war against each other for power and dominance. We can only expect natural disasters to occur at an increasing rate.

√ Decline in character:

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God” (2 Timothy 3:1-4 ).

Sadly moral values are on the decline and will continue declining until Christ returns. Unspeakable crimes are committed daily, deceit and greed have filled the mind of many people . Many children have no regard for their parents. People are full of pride, abusive. People have no self control and sexual immortality is rampant like never before.

√ Scoffers of God

“…scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation” (2 Peter 3:3-4 ).

If you 'scoff' something, it means you ridicule it. The longer the period of Christ's return, the more skepticism will increase and Peter has already warned us about that in the above verse. Satan has already casted doubts about Christ return into many people. As Christians, let us not become lazy. Let us not for once believe that the end is far away.

√ False Messiahs

“Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many " (Matthew 24v 4-5)

“For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect” (Matthew 24:24 ).

There are a lot of fanatics in this century claiming to be Jesus. Sadly, the weak and vulnerable are thir targets and they fall victim to this fanatics. Therefore, as Christians, we have to be on guard against false preaching and deception.

Given the situation of the world today and everything happening around us,it is difficult to avoid the conclusion that Christ is coming soon although we do not know the day nor the hour. We are seeing

We are seeing the signs of endtimes everywhere- famine, earthquake, sexual immorality and so on. But was there ever a time in history this was not the case. As I said earlier we do not know when the Lord is coming.
The end time should not be a time of panick. It should be a time for us to practice holiness and help others(do good) whenever and wherever we can

"Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith" (Galatians 6:10).

We must not get complacent. We must never for once think the end is far away.

“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming” ( Matthew 25:13 )

In these last days, let us not for once forget the reason for our hope. My hope is that anyone unsaved reading this post will realise that we are living in the last days and they will accept Jesus into their life today. God doesn't want any of us to perish. I do not want anybody to perish- and of courses, so should you!

2 Peter 3:9, NIV : "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
