BEWARE OF PROCRASTINATION

One of the biggest enemies of progress in life is procrastination. Procrastination means to be slow or late about doing something that should be done or to postpone. This is a character that affects millions of people in their every walk of life and because of this, many have lost opportunities and life chances. Procrastination also becomes a huge problem when it comes to accepting Jesus Christ as the Sovereign Lord and savior. It is a very deadly situation for a Child of God to procrastinate, because procrastination can lose ones fellowship with God and one’s Christian family, mostly, lose life-changing opportunities.
Jeremiah 8:20 laments the devastating effect of Procrastination.

There are plenty of reasons why people procrastinate. A key fact to this is basically laziness. But firstly, it is mostly because of their personal convenience (Acts 24:25). This is also the reason many people do not give your lives to Christ immediately they hear the Word of God. Some might just have the mindset “I’d give my life to Christ next Sunday” when they are so shy they couosnt stand up that exact day when the Preacher asked the congregation the life-changing question.

Next is the major factor, Laziness. Laziness is a very dangerous attitude, both towards spiritual and physical aspects of life. Lazy individuals keep on postponing events of things they could have done in just few minutes, and in the end, they always find themselves in a pile of postponed situations on the day of reckoning that can lead them to great losses and improper outcomes. This is thesame way some people postpone topics they could have read for an exam to days to the exam date; and then you would see them running helter skelter just to accomplish something they could have finalized months ago, now they are battling in tensed situations.
Another cause of procastination is environmental distractions. One can have two events at thesame time and would have not choice to take both of them at thesame time, so he postpones one and does the other. Although he is better than the man who postpones both, but he should remember to come back to accomplish that mission at a time he planned to do it. That attributes to one being a devoted Christian.

In conclusion, it is very important we seize the moment and maximize every given opportunity to accomplish our goals and not worry for the future when the time of reckoning knocks at the door.
