STEEMCHURCH: How loving is our God?

Many people always think that they already have a ready made answer to this question whenever it is asked, but I have come to understand with the few interactions I have with some people that most of us really don't know how loving God is, one of the indicators is when we believe that the totality or the the expression of God's love is seen whenever our physical needs are met. But this can't be how much God's love is, physical things will end, no matter how much, God's love can't end, so, the expression of God's love will be related to something eternal in us and for us. Without much ado, let's see what our Lord Jesus christ has for us this morning about the true expression of God's love:

John 15:13 NLT
There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends.

Jesus revealed to us here that there's no greater love than to sacrifice, and this is exactly what Jesus did, no greater love here doesn't mean there are other love that can be manageable but it suggests that this kind of love is the ONLY TRUE LOVE, he explains this clearly in a latter verse:

John 3:16 NLT
"For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

This is how God loved the world: he gave, for eternal life, not perishing! That's the total expression of God's love!

The spirit of Christ confirmed this truth to us in the epistles, telling us how loving is our God, how is it being expressed to us. See these:

Romans 5:8 NLT
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

1 John 4:9 NLT
God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.

Glory to God.
God's love is so great, it can't be quantified, it is not seen in mundane things that will perish, it is received as forgiveness of sin, eternal life and being secured with him forever..
