In the account of creation, man was created after every other things were created. God created man to enjoy life and be peaceful without any stress because everything man needs are already available.
To live a life of absolute rest, we all have to come back to Christ as it is stated in Mathew 11:28

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
