in #steemchurch7 years ago

Hello Steemians

Finally, I bring you the last part of the study relating to the Bible, in the post previous we speak concerning a simple definition of what is the Bible, then we did focus on who was the author of the Bible focusing than the word of God is divine inspiration and making it clear that the main author of the Bible is nothing more and nothing less than God himself.

In this last part we are talking about a slightly controversial topic, since more than one wondered who decided to books that were in the Bible, no more a concern then we will enter in the subject, however I would like to note an important fact of history.

After the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ all those disciples and believers of the Gospel were pursued for unfortunately put an end to the beliefs of many followers of Jesus Christ, however up to 312 a.d Constantine in their wars against each other aspiring to the throne, before the battle of Milvain bridge on the outskirts of Rome exactly, October 27, 312 a.d., he saw in the sky, on the setting sun and I see a vision of the cross, and on it the words "In this sign you will conquer." In this way took the crucial decision to fight under the banner of Christ, and won the battle. It was the crucial point in the history of Christianity, there was born the edict of tolerance where Constantine gave to Christians and to all the other full freedom to follow that religion which each one chooses. In this way, we can see that as a result of these events are the Councils in the year 325 a.d, which began with Nicaea in 325, which dealt with the problem of the Jewish practices and the role of the law, is often called "Council of the Apostles".

But wait a bit what a Council? A Council is a formal meeting of bishops, often with representatives of other churches, in order to regulate the discipline or doctrine.

How is the process of compilation of the Bible took out? The story of the Bible is quite complex and controversial, since throughout the years, joined a long list the appearance of several books or scrolls, dating back to old dates, in which some claim that they were written under the inspiration divine and that they must come within the biblical canon, however to determine if the book should or not entering the Canon were held several Councils where experts determined the veracity of the books and taking into account several features allowing you to recognize the books.

To recognize the books of the New Testament used several criteria, among which I would like to show you the three criteria that were considered most important: 1.-Which were written by an apostle or his disciple. 2. To be used in the liturgy of the Apostolic churches, Ej.Roma, Corinth, Jerusalem, Antioch, etc. 3.-That was in accordance with the faith received from the Apostles.

There were two main canons of the Old Testament: The canon of Jamnia established by Jews who rejected Christianity. In this canon the 39 books of the Hebrew canon were accepted.

At the Council of Rome of the year 382, when the Catholic Church instituted the biblical Canon with the list of books of the old testament Version of the LXX and the new testament of St. Athanasius (first developed canon of what is known as Old Testament). It is Alexandrian Canon, commonly called Septuagint or "Bible of the seventy" and usually abbreviated simply LXX); This version was translated from Greek into Latin by St. Jerome (the Vulgate) commissioned by the Church, which in practice would be the first Bible in the full and specific sense of the Word.

The Alexandrian canon: recognized by the Jews in the translation of the seventy to the Greek. This canon is the most used by the Jews of the time of Christ and by the authors of the New Testament. This canon contains the "Deuterocanonical" books and is the recognized by the Catholic Church.

However 15th centuries after Christ, Lutero rejects the canon established by the early Church and adopt the canon of Jamnia. This is the canon that Protestants accept, and the canon used by most of the Church Christian of Latin America, with 66 books in total, although the Catholic Church adopt Alexandrian Canon with 73 books in total, where there are the famous books apocryphal.

This is all friends, in the same way any concerns can comment post to try to clarify any doubt, because this part is quite controversial.
