A "BROKEN" STORY

A father took his son along to steal yams in another man's farm. He stationed his son at the entrance of the big farm to watch whether anyone was approaching. He went inside and began to dig the yams. Then all of a sudden, the boy screamed, “Daddy! Somebody is watching us.” The man quickly rose up and asked the boy, “From which direction; is it from the left, right, front or back side? ” The boy said, “No Daddy.” The man was angry with the by and he said, “where is the person you said was watching us? ” The boy answered, “God is watching us.” The man dropped the yams and went home crying.

This man was broken. If it was somebody that is not broken, he would have beaten the boy and gone home to eat the stolen yams.

WHAT IS BROKENNESS

Brokenness is when we are dead and Christ is the one now walking around in our lives.

God specialises in broken things. If the cloud over our heads refuses to break, rain will not fall. If the ground under us does not break, the seed will not germinate and grow. If we refuse to be broken, God cannot use us.
If we refuse to be broken, the power of God cannot break forth in our lives. If you ask me to point to one key of power, it is brokenness.

As long as we key ourselves into brokenness, God can use us and God will always save us from the trap of the devil.

There is a time and season for everything under the sun. There was Elijah and there was Elisha. There was also Gehazi. Elijah and Elisah were broken but Gehazi was not; we know what befell Gehazi, he was covetous.

Brokenness means a lot to God. It is of a great benefit to us as individuals. Brokenness is a great virtue. When we are broken, if God says, “Sit down” we will sit down. If God says, “talk” then we must talk. If He says, “stand up”, then we must stand up. If God says, “run” then we must run. If God says, “fast for seven days” then we must fast, we should do it without argument or fuss.

When we are broken, we cannot be proud. When we are broken, we cannot commit fornication or adultery. When we are broken, we cannot steal. When we are broken, We cannot gossip. When we are broken, we cannot be drinking and small kinds of things. When we are broken, the difference will be clear.

Once we are broken, God will use us because it is broken people that God uses to accomplished His objectives. God is interested in broken pepeop because He knows how, when and where they will fit into His overall plan.
It is only for us to say, “Lord, I am here. We have forsaken our past life, We have done away with anger, gossip, stubbornness, drunkenness idolatry, pride, lasciviousness, gluttony and We surrender completely to you.”

In totality, for those of us who are broken only seekhow to please God and not man. We are only interested in only what edifies and not what desecrates. Brokenness guarantees a humble and contrite spirit in prayer.

1. O Lord, break me and remould me in the name of Jesus, Amen.

2. My salvation shall not be wasted in the name Jesus, Amen.
