STEEMCHURCH: Teach me, Oh Jehovah the way.
Constancy
Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end.( Psalm 119: 33)
Reese Kauffman, president of Child Evangelism Fellowship, grew up in a Christian home, where he was taught certain habits in his life as a child.
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. (proverb 22-6)
For example:
His mother had a ritual at bedtime from which he never left:
Those were 2 rules that never changed in that home. Every night he brushed his teeth and read a chapter of the bible.
Even in his youth, dedicated to business, and having departed from the Lord, he never abandoned that habit.
And it was a night when he read Psalm 139 before going to bed, that God spoke to him and took over his life. Now years later, the man still maintains the same teaching of his mother
Maybe the most important aspect of bible study is perseverance: It is better to study a little of God's word every day than to try to absorb much of the bible in a random study. Find the pattern that serves, and turn off to it.
