Scriptural Reading: Philippians 4:10–23
10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak [a]from want, for I have learned to be [b]content in whatever circumstances I am. 12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13 I can do all things [c]through Him who strengthens me. 14 Nevertheless, you have done well to share with me in my affliction. 15 You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the [d]first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you alone; 16 for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs. 17 Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the [e]profit which increases to your account. 18 But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am [f]amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus [g]what you have sent, [h]a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God. 19 And my God will supply [i]all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 Now to our God and Father be the glory [j]forever and ever. Amen. 21 Greet every [k]saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me greet you. 22 All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household. 23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.(Please read through at least twice)
Meditation/Memory Verse(s): Philippians 4:17
Revelatory Insight on Selected Verse(s):
“…I desire fruit that may abound to your account…”
Ministering to God’s Servants means endeavouring to honour them with the good things of life the Lord has given to you, Galatians 6:10 (Amplified Translation) “…let him who receives instruction in the Word of God share all good things with his teacher(contributing to his support)…”
Although certain ministries and ministers have set up systems for fleecing the people or getting what they want from the people (this is not to judge). Yes the scripture says “…thou shall not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treads out the corn…” So “…the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel…” 1Corinthians 9: 9 – 14.
However, Paul says here in the verse under review “…not that I desire a gift from you…but I desire fruit that may abound to your account…” meaning I am not “living off you” (this should be the position of God’s Servant; the people are not your source or employer; God is). But understand that whatever you give me, Paul says “is credited to your eternal account”. Then
“God shall supply all your need…”**Philippians 4:19.** You don’t lose when you support a minister, you gain tremendously.
Confession/Affirmation:
(I am a gospel financier,
I am blessed abundantly prosperous,
I am rich in Dollars, Pounds, Euro, and Naira;I am rich in all currencies of the world;
I am blessed to be a blessing; to the church, to my family, to my generation, to God’s ministers, to the poor and needy and to all men.
I am a giver)
Action on the Word:
Following those scriptures above carefully, you would have observed that ministering to God’s servant is commanded by the Lord; like you plan to give in church weekly or monthly, also plan to give to your man of God (allow the spirit guide you) don’t be pressured to give; do it willingly and cheerfully, 2Corinthians 8:12, 2Corinthians 9:7.
