For the final challenge of the Steem Crypto Challenge Month we have something special.

On October 31, 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto announced the Bitcoin white paper 'Bitcoin : A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System', which officially proposed the Bitcoin concept.

To celebrate the 12th anniversary of this momentous event in the world of crypto our final challenge of the month is all about Bitcoin.

As well as inviting you to post about Bitcoin we are also running a bonus 'Guess The Bitcoin Price' contest alongside the main challenge.

So this week you have two ways of winning some major upvotes instead of one!

Challenge #5 : I Love Bitcoin...

This week we want you to write about Bitcoin.

About its importance, its future and what it means to you.

Some of the topics you might want to cover in your challenge posts include...

  • When and how did you find out about Bitcoin?

  • Any interesting things that have happened to you to do with Bitcoin.

  • How has Bitcoin changed your life.

  • How you invest in Bitcoin and your experience with trading it.

  • The history of Bitcoin so far, and what the future holds for it.

  • Will Bitcoin always be the dominant cryptocurrency?

  • How and when will Bitcoin reach the mass population.

BONUS CONTEST : Guess the Price of Bitcoin

With every entry you post to the main I Love Bitcoin challenge we invite you to also make a guess of what the price of Bitcoin (BTC) will be at 15:00 UTC on Saturday, October 31st 2020.

To enter this extra contest, at the end of your challenge post you should include this exact sentence in English...

The price of Bitcoin (BTC) will be 12345.67 USD

Of course replacing the number with your guess at the price. Make sure your guess goes to two decimal places.

It is that simple! Just add #bitcoinforecast as one of your first five tags as well.

You can enter once for every challenge post you make up to 23:00 UTC on Friday, October 30th.

The Rules

You can enter the Challenge as many times as you like, but no more than once per day.

Posts should be a minimum of 400 words, and can be in any language (although the price guess must be in English).

Challenge entries should include the tag #steemcryptochallenge and a tag for your country like #india or #italy in the first five tags.

If you are also entering the Guess the Price bonus contest make sure you include #bitcoinforecast as one of your first five tags.

All posts must be your own original work. Any evidence of plagiarism will result in a banning from the Challenges.

Any images used should either be your own or from a stated copyright free source.

To find the UTC time for your local time zone use...

The Prizes

For the main I Love Bitcoin challenge there will be three winning posts selected every day as normal.

The top post will receive a 75% upvote from @steemcurator01 (10M SP).

The second post will receive a 50% upvote from @steemcurator01.

The third post will receive a 25% upvote from @steemcurator01.

The prize votes will be increased by 10% for any winning posts set to Power Up 100% (assuming the account is not powering down at the same time).

For the Guess The Price bonus contest the final price taken from Poloniex at 15:00 UTC on Saturday, October 31st 2020 will be posted on @steemitblog.

The five people making the closest guesses will each win a 75% upvote from @steemcurator02 (4M SP).

The prize votes will be increased by 10% for any winning posts set to Power Up 100% (assuming the account is not powering down at the same time).

For people entering on more than one day only their closest guess will count.

If more than one person makes exactly the same guess (to 2 decimal places) and they are closest to the final price then the earliest posted ones will count first.

For the main challenge we reserve the right not to award all three prizes, or vary the prize vote mix, on any given day if there are not enough posts of sufficient quality.

Twitter Sharing

We will also be giving upvotes for sharing your Challenge posts on Twitter - make sure you include the hashtags #steem and #steemcryptochallenge.

Put a screenshot AND the direct link to the Tweet in a comment on your post to be in with a chance of winning an extra upvote.

And particularly this final week with the special 'Guess the Price' bonus contest.

We are interested in your feedback on this Crypto Challenge Month.

Do you think it worked well? Would you change the format at all? Were the prizes too big or too small?

Is it a challenge that we should run again? If so, what other topics could be covered?

Thank you,

The Steemit Team

I have really loved the crypto challenge, and I have discovered so many fantastic posts on the topic through it, so it has made me feel like writing and reading more and Steem again! :)

I believe it is useful to remain in the crypto topic, but you could for example make people write about their favorite cryptos, and why (just like you have favorite exchange). Such posts are easy to like, easy to spread, and will often spread on Telegram, Reddit, and other social media sites as well!

The prices have been fantastic, so if it could continue like that - I would personally be very encouraged to keep on writing!

An interesting event could be writing articles like questions, dealing with cryptos - this could be search engine optimized, and thus bring people to the platform, while at the same time also being of interest to the present people!

Or a competition of writing "crypto lists"

  • Ten things you never dared to ask about cryptocurrencies
  • Five places to buy Bitcoin online
  • 7 reasons to publish on Steem

and all sorts of similar lists... those could be cool, entertaining, and for sure draw crowds to the platform as well!

Thank you @steemitblog and all steemit team for the opportunity to partake in this amazing challenge month.

I will really love it to continue and the topics below should be covered:

.What are ALTCOINS
.USE CASES OF ALTCOINS
.DIFFERRENCE BETWEEN A COIN AND A TOKEN
.FUTURE OF ALTCOINS
.RISKES INVOLVED IN ALTCOINS ADOPTION
.DIVING INTO TRADING

That's just my suggestions, I know you can come up with something better.

For the prizes, I think they are okay, just that if possible I would advise that you extend to 5 winners daily.

Thank you.

Great initiative @steemitblog. I just want to say we need a similar challenge like this every month. It exposes a lot of people to a great deal of knowledge about cryptocurrency. From the beginning till the end, there was a lot to learn. The prices were okay for me, I don't know why I should ask for more.

I think the guessing game should also continue. Who knows, someone might make some hug investment decision that could pay off just by following some expertly projected prices.

More topics on the rise and fall of cryptocurrency prices will have a positive impact as people will get to know what takes a coin up and what brings it down. This I think will help people who are promoting steem to get some vital idea to add to their approach.

You guys just keep doing great challenges. Great job!

Peace.
