A BRIEF UPDATE REGARDING STEEM4STUDENTS COMMUNITY

in #steemexclusivelast year (edited)

Hello to everyone in this great platform today. I welcome you all to my blog and I hope you all are doing well.

Today I am here to give a brief update regarding Steem4students community. The community started with great vigor and strength for the purpose of uniting users who are students and non students across the globe and also to talk about education in general and other important topics related to learning that will be beneficial to the platform and it users at large.

Unfortunately this goal could not be achieved because the administration lacks the funds to reward users especially when they make articles in the community and as such many users lost interest in it because reward is lacking.

The administration went as far as to take funds from themselves to organize contest and reward users who emerge winners but there was no support forthcoming and some of the admins had some issues with the curators hence the community stops receiving reward from the curators.

It started affecting some of our moderators and the support they receive prior to their acceptance of the moderator role in the community reduced drastically. As such some moderators decided to quit from the community.

I as the founder also failed on my part to make the community better because I was also struggling with certain challenges and I am still trying to find my feet again. Eventually the community went on strike and no activity has been recorded for some time now.

My moderators ask about the funds that was gathered in the community account but I told them we won't be powering down the community account no matter what. Although I did wrong by transferring some liquid steems out of the community account and I didn't tell them but I admitted the fact and I told some of them that I will use my own account to share the same amount of liquid steems I took from the community account to their various accounts and it will be well distributed accordingly.

Still they said I am not to be trusted because I transferred the steems out without letting them know and a few supported the motion that the account should be powered down and the reward should be distributed among all moderators equally.

I didn't support that but since they wanted that so badly and for peace to be still I decided to hand over the community keys to @jueco who was one of the moderator and from today he is in charge of all operations regarding the community.

I am officially letting the platform know that I do not have any business with the community no more as I have handed the keys over to @jueco and I told him that I will be making this to be known to the public and he agreed on that.

I am sorry that I have failed the community as the former administrator and I hope the community gets better in time to come. Thank you all and goodbye.
