RE: [Announcement] Resteem Airdrop will be Stopped
Makes sense to me too. I was also trying to think for a better strategy into the voting ones alone. But I confess that without significative AI/scripting behind the scenes, it will be hard to improve the fairness of voting and getting rewards from the airdrop.
In the best interest of all the investors and steemhunt believers, the idea is to promote and bring as good as possible, new hunters that provide great content to the platform.
I love the idea and to be fair, I was thinking my interest in it (initially) would decrease, but I am finding it more and more addicting (just as a viewer). As a hunter, I am doing my best to help it, although I forsee that is not one of my best qualities. I much prefer to curate the good stuff.
And it's that area that I am trying to think on a better way to curate it, filtering "junk" stuff or making the best use of what users wanna see, to actually make that information available to hunters, so they seek the most desired content by the community.
If you can figure out how to balance creative integrity with users who are motivated only by financial interest, please let us know ;-))
I believe steemhunt is always thinking about how to implement tweaks to the ranking algorithm, tweaks that balance the ideal state with the real world.
Technical speaking it is not as easy as punching a couple of idiots that don't understand the purpose of goodwill and integrity. But I get your point. And I would say, we shall all keep trying... That's what I am doing at least. And to start with, people should avoid voting for things, JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN! =S
I know the system allows it... but if you wanna play roge, then why not to hack @dan account? Will be much more profitable.
My point is, to eradicate bad, fighting with good, will not just be enough. But it will help who has the power to drive the rules. AKA, here, @steemhunt. By helping understanding how things flow and making up our minds, we can quickly identify what works or does not.
For me, incentivising profit will never get crawlers away (and I am no saint, but that's not my point). But we are humans, and therefore we can trip on mistakes, but if the community understands that recognizing errors will be much bigger, it will all bring things to the right place.
Although what I have just said does not solve the issue... I will keep thinking about it. Unfortunately... especially today, I have seen a REALLY big amount of hunts.. that where...Blahhh... Need to think... more.
Cheers,
And, thanks for reading comments...
