Hunter's comment
BiblePay (BBP) is a Christian Charity Cryptocurrency.
The project is based on rewarding providing computing power to cancer research. 10% of collected funds go to charities and nonprofits.
Personally, I really like projects like this. I must admit that this is not the first time I see such project being focused on disease research. I would be really sad if a project like this were to be a subject of market manipulation or if the founders used Christianity as a disguise. Let's hope it's all legit.
Spreading the Gospel
The company says they are passionate about spreading the Gospel and want to utilize new means of doing so.
- 10% of all the coins generated go to charity.
The primary charities they support include Bloom World Wide, Cameroon One, and Compassion International.
Proof of Distributed Computing
In short, they are using the provided computing power to aid disease research and help charities.
90% of the collective processing power goes to helping researchers finding cures for AIDS/HIV, malaria, cancer, Alzheimer's and other diseases.
ASIC and GPU resistant
The mining algorithm is called Proof of Bible Hash. They say its uniqueness lays in every miner having the entire KJV Bible integrated. This makes BiblePay virtually impossible to port to GPU or ASIC mining, making it CPU-only.
Self-funding and decentralized governance
Biblepay has features built-in that enables it to be self-funding and self-governing. It operates with MasterNodes - called Sanctuaries.

Thank you for posting on Steemhunt!
However, your post has been delisted on Steemhunt because it does not meet the following
posting guidelines.
Steemhunt is about cool "new" products. Please make sure that your hunt is something recently introduced. If the product is not new, there must be a strong reason to post. For example, the product must be substantially updated or upgraded in a way that has a positive effect on users. Even though the set period of time to define whether it is newly launched is subjective, the moderators may ask if the product is widely considered to be a “new product” (or substantially updated).
In Steemhunt, the coolness is decided by hunter’s upvotes. If many people think that a product is really cool, then the ranking is likely to be higher than other products. However, all products that are hunted in the first place should be somewhat cooler than other products. When a hunter decides to introduce the product to our community, it must not be a generic product. It should have some killer features that make people say “wow.” If your product is considered to be ordinary, the moderators may hide your hunt.
Please read our Posting Guideline here
Please note that since we can not predict every possible product, category, and/or situation, our moderation team will have the final say on all approved and/or delisted posts and will be prepared to give an explanation regarding why a product has been delisted.
Our main goal is to uphold a quality posting and product standard for hunters and visitors alike and all decisions will be made with fairness and objectivity.
Really? So this is neither new or cool? It's certainly newer than most of the stuff that gets posted. The lack of coolness I don't agree with, either. Is there any other cryptocurrency that would use the Bible for hashing?
I have to say, this is one of the more interesting products/ideas I've seen gathered by folks for Steemhunt so far, but what do I know? Sorry they won't let it make the cut. There has been plenty of things that I've scratched my head on, and thankfully, plenty of them have been shot down.
Are you out of school for the time being? Haven't seen you around much for a while, but I figured you might be working on finals and so forth.
Well, while in my opinion, it definitely is a cool product, it doesn't seem to make the cut for them as a "new" or "cool" enough product. I really don't know what their merits are. It really depends on the reviewer.
Yea, exactly that. I have exams until 30th of June, so still a while to go. I'm actually just getting ready for one exam today, so wish me luck. :)
I've also been doing some product hunting on Steemhunt in the meantime. I've actually created a separate account for that not to spam my followers too much. It has proved to be quite profitable so far. Even more than traditional blogging here, you should definitely give it a shot.
You can only do 2 hunts per day. Also, you can win an upvote for a review that has the following structure and more than 80 characters. Moreover, you need to upvote the hunt in review with at least 50% voting power in order to qualify. The rewards are in the neighbourhood of $1 USD for the review and can go as far as $200 USD for a hunt.
Pros:
Cons:
I agree. I think it does depend on the reviewer. I also saw that the same reviewer was also doing Steem hunts, which seems like a conflict of interest to me, especially since his steem hunt didn't seem all that spectacular either.
Well I appreciate doing those offsite. I've been inundated of late in my feed with steemhunts and challenge/contests.
It's really hard for me to tell mostly (yours I could actually tell you were writing the post with the bible hashing), but most of these steemhunt posts sound like the text is coming straight off the box or the webpage where the product is, and so, I'm not sure how that doesn't qualify as spam or plagiarism. I suppose on the steemhunt site it doesn't matter so much, but here, it's still nice to have some kind of original presentation.
Anyway, I think you've found something you can tap into. I'm not ready to go for that yet, but maybe in time, after it's been around for a while. I'm still in the process of building things up the old fashioned way.
Oh, and good luck on your exams. I'm sure you'll do just fine. And you'll get to do some fun things after that. :)
